Bide your time and buy a lefty. I recently bought a LH bolt and RH eject in a 1973 6mm Rem 788 and I'm loving it. I load as a single shot and the RH eject is easy to feed on the bench. I'm halfway there!
Shot RH bolts for 40 years and it's doable but why sacrifice when the lefties are out...
Whereabouts you at? I'm stuck in Tucson waiting for my wife's sister to move so I can move out yonder somewhere.
I'll chew the fat with you, shoot some 9 and 6mm.

I didn't see that requirement when I took the class and received my CCW. Almost an impossible task in most cases.
I could have missed it though. The people most obsessed with printing are the carriers. IMO.
I found a long, forgotten Bushnell Ensign 7x35 binocular that used to belong to my FIL. An avid hunter with bow, shotgun and rifle. I was amazed by the clarity of the glass and decided to put it back in service but I have a few, simple questions beings there are no instructions.
In the first...
I'm not sure what credence my pedigree lends to the conversation. But . . . not speaking from my southside BB guns to 22s to shotguns to pistols to CF rifles. I still reload and shoot 9mm, 6mm and .308. This has covered a span of 60+years. My two daughters are into 9mm pistols and shoot my...
Perhaps you could enlighten us with your possible solutions to mass murders at schools and elsewhere. I'll read and think about whatever you post and respond with my beliefs. In a civil manner.
Perhaps life, if they are out in public. Or maybe the lives of those in Texas should suffice or at least be a consideration.
An adjustment needs to be made and an age compromise that coincides with the development and maturity of todays youth seems like a logical answer as stated in my...
I agree but would include all firearms. The eighteen year olds of today aren't the same as they used to be. Bump it to 21 for purchases but allow for the shooting of firearms under supervision of a 21+ year old. This would give us the time to, help, weed out the crazies and provide training...
So . . are the records turned in to the ATF deleted after they hit the 20 year mark? Or is this only a requirement for FFLs?
Can a FFL keep the records for longer than 20 years?
Cfullgraf quote, "I have one set of Lyman dies and it is in par with the RCBS dies that I have."
I agree. Don't discount Lyman. I bought a used set of 6mm Remington dies used for $15 + $10 shipping of Ebay. I have a brand new set of RCBS still in the box because the Lyman set makes darn good...
Cheap looking go Lee. For what you're doing Lee or RCBS will serve you well. Buy good, used dies. New dies don't function any better than used unless some old fart has worn them down over sixty years.
(I'm an old fart :))
"Basically, I want a solid home defense handgun with the following ."
Dump the .45 and stick the 9mm in the drawer. I'm big on capacity and minimizing the calibers I shoot. You already have a 9mm carry so keep it in the family. If you trust the "9" for EDC why wouldn't you trust it for...
The whole problem, as I see it, is all this playing around with new cases will limit the production of 6mm Remington if they go mainstream.
That just goes against the 11th commandment.
