    Henry. 45 Long Colt

I love my Henry X in 45 lc. I only handload for it so cost to feed it isn't an issue, provided you can find components. Luckily a grabbed a brick(1000) of primers before they got scarce. The X and I believe the Steel and the case hardened can feed heavier bullets, mine will shoot cloverleaf's...

Factory bullets for .45 Colt rifles

I've had good luck with coated bullets from T&B bullets out of Oregon. I've loaded about 400 of his 250gr RNFP so far and have some 300gr TC bullets on the way. Can't beat his pricing, listed prices include tax and shipping so no surprises at checkout. If your wanting to load for high pressure...

    Trigger weight vs lock time

The trigger weight on my Henry X big boy is about 5 1/2 lbs. Its fairly crisp, and I don't hate it. But I've read that I can use a lighter hammer spring for a Marlin (on its way), along with a #6 brass washer at either end to get a pull weight of about 3 3/4lb without light strikes. So all that...

What's your favorite lever action rifle?

Current favorite is this Henry X in 45 colt. Throwing 335gr LBT WFN-GC over a stiff load of H110.

Henry vs Rossi cycling heavy .45 Colt

Finally got hands on some heavier bullets. 335 WFN-GC from Montana Bullet works. Sized .452, actual weight 343 grains. I tested loads starting at 21 grains of H110 up to 23 grains, in half grain increments. Got my best groups at 22g and 22.5g, with the edge going to 22.5g if you throw out the...

Need a light on my Henry Model X.

I mounted a pic rail in the m-lok, then I can throw my pistol light on it. I mounted light on side instead of on the bottom so when I turn it on it shines on the fiber optic front sight.

Henry vs Rossi cycling heavy .45 Colt

TTv2, gotcha. I was just letting you know the newer style action, X model and possibly big boy steel and case hardened steel, can handle longer heavier bullets and have the 1-16" twist to stabilize them. As for the 300xtp's, if your wanting already loaded Precision One sells 50 for $42 plus...

Henry vs Rossi cycling heavy .45 Colt

I recently purchased a Henry X model in 45 colt. It has 1-16" twist which should be good for heavier bullets. I have not purchased any 335 grain bullets for it yet, but I have made up a dummy round with a 250 rnfp seated to a COL of 1.690" and it cycled fine. I think the action on these guns is...
