    Mustang Malfunction

I recently bought a nice Colt Mustang in new condition. I took it to the range and shot about 60 rounds through it. Using the stock Colt magazine and two aftermarket magazines (USA brand), more often than not the 6th (final round) did not go into the chamber. It pointed straight up and the...

    Marlin Camp Carbine Experts Needed!

Trebor, since I changed more than one thing, I can't say for sure what made the difference, though I'm leaning towrds the 16.5 pound spring versus the 21pound spring. I'll try some hollowpoints next time I go to the range to see if they will work now! I'll probably try some other 1911...

    Marlin Camp Carbine Experts Needed!

I'm stoked! I figured out how to make this Marlin run! I put a 16.5 lb Wolff spring in it, used round nose bullets, used the stock Marlin Magazine and a Blackjack buffer - ran like a clock! This thing is a blast to shoot! Low recoil and very quiet! Love this rifle now!

Searching for a new Revolver, any suggestions?

I've always been a semi-auto guy but after shooting some friends' revolvers at the range, i finally decided to buy one! I took this one to the range yeasetrday and had a blast with it! It shoots well, even with the 2-3/4" barrel. It's a Smith 325 Nightguard in .45 ACP. [/IMG]

    Marlin Camp Carbine Experts Needed!

The stock buffer was removed before the replacement was installed. The buffer has a projection that fits tightly in a hole at the back of the receiver. I can't imagine how two buffers could be installed at once. I was wondering about reducing the thickness of the replacement buffer, giving...

    Marlin Camp Carbine Experts Needed!

I recently bought a NIB Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 ACP. After reading advice on this and other forums I bought and installed a Blackjack Buffer and a 21 lb Wolff recoil spring. I took the gun to the range yesterday and had some malfunctions. Once in a while, the bolt came forward and hit a...

    Dry or Oily Bore?

That's exactly what I thought! Then I read the paragraph at the end of the Break In Procedure article at the SavageArms site: "They recommend the use of a patch with 2 drops of oil after the cleaning so that you are not shooting with a dry bore. It is also advisable to use a powder solvent...

    Dry or Oily Bore?

Do you guys run a swab through the bore of your gun before shooting it to remove the oil you put on it when you cleaned it last? I've always done this, but I'm wondering why. I guess there could be some dust accumulation that could be harmful. I'm not sure what effect the oil has on the bore...

    Getting My First Revolver!

I just ordered a new Smith M325 Night Guard revolver in .45 ACP. I have never owned a double action revolver (I had a Ruger Super Single Six way back - the one gun I let get away!). I have heard of people improving the action on this type of gun. What can I expect from the factory? Can the...

    New to Revolvers

I generally shoot autoloaders but I've recently realized that the revolver has some virtues that can't be ignored. I just ordered a S&W Nightguard in .45 ACP. Can you recommend a speed loader for this gun? Do I need to order a full moon clip or do these guns come with what's needed? Thanks!
