    AR-RPM9

I've been lax in my knife purchase of late. What do you think of AR-RPM9 that's been growing in use on the $50-$100 Chinese made folders?

    CTS-204P

I have a ZT 0562CF with a 204P blade. I like it. Reprofiles easily with diamonds, touches up easily on ceramic rods. Very good edge retention and corrosion resistance. Not as chip resistant as some other steels, but not as brittle as some reports on the web would indicate either.

    What's your next knife?

Spyderco Native 5 Salt with Magnacut blade. Already pre-ordered. Just waiting for my card to get charged and for it to ship when the dealer gets them from Spyderco. Have you considered the aforementioned Native 5? It's becoming a de facto folding mule with all the steels that are already...

    SWA24S

I'll be the bearer of bad news. Blade steel is 7Cr17MoV, and that knife is made in China. Blade HQ sells them for $13.

    China / Taiwan knives.

Yes, there are some great Chinese and Taiwanese made knives. They are not the same country though. Some of Spyderco's best made knives come from the manufacturer they use in Taichung, Taiwan. Many of the higher end Chinese brands like WE and Reate use American made PM steels from companies like...

I'm not into Chinese made knives but...

I'm sorry, but that's not even an apples to oranges comparison*. Here's a closer comparison. That CJRB Feldspar with the 3.5" blade is $40 from Blade HQ (not fake knife riddled Amazon). Then Tit's $50 to get the 3.5" Feldspar with a black coated blade, or $80 to get the BHQ exclusive with a...

I'm not into Chinese made knives but...

$200 Gets you S90V with carbon fiber from Benchmade, and steels like S110V and Maxamet with G10 handles from Spyderco. Where are you seeing Chines knives with those steels for $40?

New knife, first CRKT in a long time. Sort of an impulse buy...

It looks like most of the CEO line is made in China, but the large CEO flipper is made in Taiwan. On sites like Kinfe Center and Blade HQ you can select a brand (or type of knife like folding, fixed blade, etc) then go over to the long skinny tool bar column on the left and filter by country of...

New knife, first CRKT in a long time. Sort of an impulse buy...

They have a few hatchet sheaths and replacement hatchet handles that are made in the US, and that's about it. Most, if not all, of their hatchets / small axes are made in Taiwan, along with several of their knives. The majority of their knives are made in China. But they do have the "Forged by...

New knife, first CRKT in a long time. Sort of an impulse buy...

That would depend on the tool steel. CruWear is pretty tough for a tool steel, and even tougher in powder metallurgy form with the smaller, more uniform carbides. Then there's 52100, which is an extremely tough ball bearing steel, that I commonly see it get lumped in with tool steels. Of course...

    A flipper push dagger

Kinda looks like a hybrid between a push dagger and a folding karambit with the blade shape. Doesn't look at all practical, but it's pretty.

    Knife feedback

Again, which specific model(s)? Sog makes some pretty good flippers, and some rather bad flippers. What's your budget? Kershaw has some nice USA made manual flippers that are on ball bearings and use a strong detent, rather than an assisted opening torsion spring that can break. There are also...
