    Movers afraid of gun safe

I ended up getting the two young men who came to deliver our new fridge to move the safe for a couple hundred bucks, which they did without anyone getting hurt. Next I need an estimate from the floor restoration people so I can go to a lawyer and ask whether s/he thinks the movers' "contract"...

    Movers afraid of gun safe

I checked with Liberty, the door doesn't come off. And @RetiredUSNChief is right: what I told them is that if they didn't feel they could do it safely (pardon the pun), I didn't want them to try. (No self-fufilling prophecy, please.) What I do want is for the company to send me some guys who...

    Movers afraid of gun safe

I just couldn't believe 5 young men couldn't move a 700# safe down a simple flight of steps, even with a ramp. Meanwhile, the company is ignoring me -- time for some 1-star reviews, I guess. They also put a deep gouge in a 150-year-old hardwood floor and then offered me $375 (the renovator we...

    Movers afraid of gun safe

Paid movers a bunch of money to move across town. They knew ahead of time one large item was a full sized Liberty safe -- even charged me extra for a large/heavy item fee. Two crews, total of 5 men. They got it out of the old basement and up a grassy rise to get to the front of the house. When...

Flintlocks: fun hobby, not so fun for serious action?

I learned more about 19th C history from Flashman than from any history books... and I was a history professor!

If you had a time machine…?

I'd buy a boatload of shares of Microsoft and Apple when they IPO'd. (To make this firearm related, you can be sure some of the gazillions of dollars I'd make would go to guns.)

    Jack Crabb tried that. LOL

Flintlocks: fun hobby, not so fun for serious action?

Re-reading C.S. Forester's "Hornblower" series that I loved as a kid, and they still hold up. But now that I know a smidge more about firearms than I did then, I'm struck by descriptions of hand-to-hand fighting: Fire pistol once, then switch to sword (or belaying pin, or whatever's handy). And...

It's a shame you don't like Strats. LOL 1966 Stratocaster 2018 Seagull acoustic Boss Katana 50 (which I'm looking to trade in on a Marshall Origin 20)

Some photography cases come with foam that can be trimmed as well.

    Really digging this little Sig

My 365 is my EDC. Didn't like breaking my grip to use the mag release so I switched it to the right side to be activated by my trigger finger. Very pleased with this pistol -- big change from carrying my full size Kimber 1911 in .45.

Another "is it still worth it" question -- C&R licenses

I had my Cruffler license for some years, let it lapse about 2 years ago. Thinking about reapplying, but wondering if it's still worth bothering given how the market has shrunk. Thoughts from other 03 FFLs?

    11 or 13 rounds .380 = is that a game changer ?

Game changer? Not for me -- 9mm Parabellum is the smallest I'm willing to go. YMMV, natch.
