Who's shot a rifle chambered for the .50 BMG?

Why do people talk about "need?" If you want one...buy one...most of my firearms does not involve the need factor. What other firearms are you getting AP/API/APIT? The answer is none, so why wouldn't you want a 50BMG is a better question. I have a Lee 50BMG reloading kit, but I haven't...

    Savage axis .223 youth question

It's just the LOP that's different, so you can buy a longer stock. I'd recommend replacing the stock with a Boyd's or if you have some time, you can reinforced the factory stock. I added two metal rods and epoxy. I also added Great Stuff to the stock to fill the stock.

300 blackout subsonic question- scientists jump in

I happen to like my gee whiz bullets from Lehigh...they are a local company and are awesome to talk to in person. I find this thread to be silly as the OP clearly seems to have something against Lehigh and other companies that actually make an expanding bullet at subsonic speeds. I hunt with...

    6.5 creedmoor ar10

The real issue with AR10 is that there is no standard for the AR10 as there is with the mil spec AR15. You have Armalite AR10 on one side and SR25/DPMS pattern on the other side. Most seem to be using SR25/DPMS as there are more mags available for that pattern.

    6.5 creedmoor ar10

Reason why I went with 6.5CM in an AR10 is due to the fact that if you reload you can load the 6.5CM longer in the DPMS patterned mags compared to 260. With a +2 gas system, I don't think it will matter about the buffer weight. I'm building an ultra light AR10 in 6.5CM...I didn't order my...

Need HELP w/ Savage Axis .308 build please

If you bought a package deal...throw away the rings and optics as Savage's packages use some really cheap parts. My Axis had a bunch of metal shavings when I removed the barrel. I could not reuse the barrel nut because of all the metal shavings, so be warned. Unless Savage actually address...

Maybe I'll build my own bolt gun.

I wouldn't consider torqueing two screws "building" a rifle, but that's just me. I suppose you think pinning a complete upper to a complete lower building an AR15" As others have already stated, you will probably be in for less money to just get a complete rifle because Howa buys stocks in...

    Tikka T3?

Sako/Tikka have the very best factory actions of any factory produced rifle. To the guy that was complaining about mags not being conventional...get a chassis for it and you will have more mag choices. The whole recoil argument is silly these days. If your state allows for NFA...get a...

Bump Fire / Slide Fire Stocks

Slide Fire stocks are much better than the Bump Fire stocks. I own both. I disagree with the guy that said to buy one vs making your own. Some people type the dumbest things on these forums. It's not illegal to build your own bump fire stocks. Just don't use a spring or rubber band in...

Night vision scope for AR for about $1000

You should learn reading comprehension. OP asked about NV...no mention of thermal, so not sure why you added that useless comment. OP, I personally would say avoid ATN NV...they make some outrageous claims and their products aren't very good. If you are looking for a dedicated NV scope...take...

    Ak pistol with a brace

I'm calling BS...length of barrel does not make it more accurate. Length of barrel affects velocities. I put a Sig Brace on my PAP M85NP pistol. If I were to do it again, I would have gone with the shockwave as I like it's looks better and more importantly, it's lighter and cost much less. I...

Convert to 300 BLK or Not...

I have a 300BO in a bolt action and in an AR15. I hunt with my bolt action as it sports a 16" barrel and even with my suppressor on it, it's still light... 300BO isn't for everyone, but it's for me. I don't believe anyone has said the 300BO is the same as a 6.8SPC, etc etc...these threads...

Holosun red dot on my colt AR. did I do good or screw up?

It always cracks me up when people spend top dollar on firearms and buy crap ammo or optics. There is a reason why product A cost under $200 and product B cost over $600.

    Radical Firearms

There is a reason they are so cheap...if you are a member on ARF...take a look at all the negative comments about Radical uppers. These are the salad days of AR15s...why buy crap when you can get good AR15 uppers/rifles from reputable vendors.

    243 build

If I were you, I'd save more and get Shilen Select Match...I had one on my Savage in 308 and that barrel gave me the very best groups...I had a 5rd group that was essentially one hole. Measure the center of the screws to determine if you have 4.27 or the 4.4" spacing. I have a Stevens 200 and...

    savage not ejecting

You are correct. Gunshack does offer upgraded parts. I bought one as I converted my Axis to a 300BO. You get a better ejector and extractor.

    CZ Centerfire and Tikka questions

OP, both are great options. I get annoyed with posts on forums when people don't read and go off on tangent and make suggestion on something you didn't ask. CZ have nice looking wood stocks and triggers are nice. Tikka has the very best action for a factory rifle. If it was me, I'd...

.300 AAC Blackout with suppressor and subsonic ammo for deer hunting?

The problem with using subsonic ammo suppressed is that most bullets are designed to expand with higher velocities. You need to either 1) Buy or reload bullets that are designed to expand at subsonic velocities or 2) Go with a supersonic load such as Barnes 110 gr. My favorite brand...
