I bought a second die set and turret so that I can switch between 38 and 357 without messing with the dies. I load coated cast and getting the powder through expansion die set like I want can take a little bit of time. I don't regret it.
I have a few days off from work so today I am loading up some 357 magnum hollowpoints. Clear coated Mihec 158gr large HP @ 1.575, CCI SPM primers, and *mumbles* grains of H110.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all!
Yes. They will work just fine.
After several years of adjusting my dies back and forth between .38 and 357 I decided to just buy another die set and another turret for my LCT. Now I have a dedicated setup for each.
This is totally unnecessary and done just as a convenience.
A middle charge of AA9 and 158 gr xtp will get what you are looking for. It will be a magnum that you can shoot all day and will probably be accurate.
It is definitely more than a 38.
