When yah know yah got a good wife...........

Nah, that's the wife tendin to the burn pit. The white square to the right of the tree is the 25 yd target. The rounds go thru that and into the soft shale behind it. The house + garage are the only level area on the entire 3.5 acres. But when yah expose shale to air, it begins to crumble and...

    What were 2019 ammo prices?

While I'm no fan of the Walton Clan or their stores, I gotta admit they're about the only retailers that haven't gouged the public on ammo prices.

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Wife's GD just finished boot at Ft Jackson. They wouldn't let me on base for the ceremony citing vaccination status, but I think they just didn't want any Marines. ;) Thank you for your service!

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Well I dropped my P-85 off + briefly chatted with the gunsmith. As mentioned, it's in the basement of his home, but pretty extensive. He openly admitted he wouldn't call himself a "gunsmith" and when I asked about milling operations he referred me to a couple local places. He seemed very...

Since I shoot mostly in the backyard, I shoot more since covid started. I sold both motorcycles, had both booked cruises cancelled, and seldom traveled since covid. Sooo, needed some kinda hobby + shooting/reloading filled the void. We normally cruise several times a year, but I won't get vacced...

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Yup, but there's plenty here in the Amish community, which is why I'm surprised no gunsmiths. Cobbler's, carriage makers, farriers, master furniture builders, all exceptional crafstmen, but yah won't find em on the internet. I do, however, see them in Walmart carryin boxes of shoes from China...

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Finally ran down a guy 25 mi north of here. Works out of his house, but lic and highly recommended. I can't believe there's none in Amish country, but the society is kind of private, and I get that.

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Yah know that "modular system" is a point well taken. Wondering now if that wasn't by design of the mfgs. Most everything that happens today in government/big business is literally engineered, it don't just happen that way.

    Economical decent cleaning chemicals

Yup, love Ballistol + use it on everything metal, plastic, wood, whatever. But for that exceptional dirty bore that requires the rod + brush, still use Hoppes #9.

    Is gunsmithing a lost art?

Looking to get some minor work done on one of my pistols that's a little beyond my comfort level. Problem is, only gunsmith around these parts retired couple years ago. Now, I live in a rural community (outside Dover, OH), but there's 2 cities close by with a population around 25K combined...

    Small Explosion at the range

That's why the ammo belts are assembled with clips, so you can reach up + twist them apart stopping the cook offs. Admittedly it works great, but when you look at the belt going thru an M-60, it appears more like a chainsaw blade than an ammo belt. Anyway, I wasn't havin any part of it + the...
