I have a Savage 116 Weather Warrior on 30-06 and it has proven to be accurate and reliable. It's a good knock around the woods rifle. You'll be happy with it as a back up. Next season mine will be moved to back up status as I plan to buy an upper in 6.8 SPC for my AR.

According to the 2006 Writers' Market, Shotgun News pays $200-$500 per assigned articles. It doesn't mention freelance articles, other than that 95% of the articles in Shotgun News are freelance written. Also, it publishes articles 3 months after accepted on average, and the writer gets a...
Don't forget about connotative meaning. When the average person hears or sees the term "automatic weapon" what picture forms in their mind, a semi-automatic firearm, or a fully automatic firearm. While I don't know for certain, I believe most people think of a fully automatic firearm when they...
According to the September issue of Shooting Times, FNH USA is putting out a bolt action in 7.62x39. It's up on the website as well http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/firearms/model.asp?fid=FNF007&gid=FNG004&mid=FNM0135 At over 8 lbs it's a bit heavy, but nice looking rifle though.
I saw the show when it first aired, and have watched several episodes. I don't always agree on what side is truly at the advantage, and I certainly don't agree that the guy with the Makarov has an advantage over the guy with the Beretta. The shows "tests" said that the Makarov was more...
I agree with those that say Ian is a better host. He's also a minister, which may explain why some of his shows are more religious in topic.
That's part of what I like about his interview style. He asks questions, but doesn't let his own opinion show and lets the listener decide who is...
Don't know if anyone listens to this late night/early morning radio show, but the host, George Noory, seems very gun friendly. Within the last month John Lott has made two appearances on the show to talk about gun laws. Just this past wednesday John Lott and Joel Beniak were on to talk about...
Is that the new form? It doesn't look like Ala Dan said it should, the yes and no for the questionaire is still there, plus the (10-2001) on the bottom of the page leads me to believe that the form was last revised in October 2001, could be wrong on that though. Could be the ATF doesn't have a...
That may be true, but the IO website no longer lists a STG-2000 or STG-2003, but they list an AK-47c. Now all articles on the STG-2000 show pictures of the gun with no dimples in the receiver, while the pictures of the AK-47c on IOs websight show dimpled receivers with a claim that the receiver...
I do not believe that the current IO AKs are WASR-10's. Note the dimpled reciever, and the text under the picture stating that the receiver and barrel are made in the USA. My WASR has a Romanian receiver and barrel. The older IO AKs were simply dressed up WASRs, and I'm sure that plenty of...
I would say you did real good. Hope you enjoy your new rifle.
And I would like to add, that the Tigr is a "hunting" dragunov, the Romanian PSL is the "Fake Dragunov"
PT = Physical Training
PE = Physical Education
You can have all the PE in the world, but if you don't have any PT it won't do a bit of good.;)
Edit: I'm thinking in civilian terms here, no idea about the military uses.
Get shot and paralyzed by your kid, at least in this case. Can't perform as an officer anymore, you retire. A "retired police officer" is simply an officer that isn't on the police force anymore, not necessarily retired completely.
I've taken high school physics, and to show this concept we rolled balls off a table at various speeds and timed the drop. Still whenever I hear someone say that a bullet rises, I just assume that they are talking about the bullet path, which does rise in relation to the line of sight because...
