Is my Man Card in Jeopardy? .375 H&H Mag is too much for me

I have a mark V 375 H&H and recoil is not at all difficult to deal with. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. And I’m only 5’ 11” at 184 lbs.

    Anyone Carrying Glock 42?

Holey Moley —golf balls? I use a 4 inch bullseye at 50 yards, and darn happy if I get my rounds on target. But then again, I don’t use a rest, just off hand or barricade..

    Anyone Carrying Glock 42?

My wife caries a 42 in her butt pack every day. I reload to critical defense parameters and find it to be a very accurate, easy piece for her every day activities. I often carry it IWB for short trips (mail box, convenience store, etc.) with total confidence. It’s not heavy, cumbersome, or...

    Fire Forming Brass

Just on the subject of primers - Blacksheep in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho has an unlimited supply of all sizes for about as reasonably priced as you can find. Spotted them as I was going to Washington to visit friends. Picked up several bricks. If you’re out that way it’s a good place to stop. Never...

    300 BO brass question

That’s a beautiful site for my eyes. My best score was an ammo can full which gave about 75 cases to convert. You’re a lucky guy - congrats,

    300 BO brass question

Yeah, but a few of my buddies just can’t afford the NEW 300 brass, and there’s plenty of “free” 223/5.56 for converting. Cost: time = plenty, money = 0. No brained for many.

    AA#9 for 30 Carbine

My pet load uses W296 but when that’s not available the H110: produces the same results. I have used IMR4227 and #9 for plinkers quite a lot. Any of those will work fine. Look at the manuals and pick your ladder load around what kind of shooting you do. The listed loads in this thread are darn...

    Which bullet for bobcat

I wish we had more bobcat and lynx around here! The turkeys are so thick they are a major problem. I see anywhere from 10 to 20 each day. If I don’t build fences They eat my garden and make a mess of my yard with their scratching. The darn things run when I go out and holler at them, but usually...

    Which bullet for bobcat

Bobcat - anything from a 22 to my 375 H&H. Easier to kill than coyote. Wolf and coyote are my target animals, and usually with my -06 for wolves. I don’t bother bobcat anymore.

Is "six" still enough for defense?

I like what 455 hunter said above. Have the piece that fits your comfort and ability, and practice for proficiency. The chances are you would only need one. I carried a 32Long for years but found that my sig 9 is now my preferred carry piece. And under most circumstances one will probably be...

Poll: How long have you been reloading?

started in the early 80’s on a 1911 45ACP (still do that one), graduated to 44 mag and expanded from there.

Revolver or Auto, one pick only.

I see most people included 3 wheel guns, and 3 semi guns. I only have two that I would buy again if needed. The Sig p226 9mm and the browning super 9mm. Darn fine guns. I carry the Sig., Big, heavy and accurate.

Revolver or Auto, one pick only.

Now I have to try the GP100 22LR. Probably be my next purchase if it’s what I want for plinking.

Revolver or Auto, one pick only.

Ruger super Blackhawk 44 mag, 10.5” bbl (old model). Ruger XP100 357 mag. 6”bbl Ruger single six 22 mag 6” bbl Guess I’m stuck on Rutgers. Evert one I have ever owned is/was a tack driver. And for the big guys I load light for practice. The 44 easily handles everything out to 100 yards with...

Army selects Vortex for Next Generation Squad Weapon – Fire Control Optic

Many electronic components/equipment is made in South Korea (Samsung), Taiwan, Japan. LG is another that I can think of at the moment. Enough that (with careful selection) you can avoid purchasing Chinese made items. That applies to MANY things. And many common items may be identified as an...
