Initially tried to acquire as many different handguns in as many different caliber as I could possibly afford however, my budget restrictions prevented me from keeping many of them. Collection now consists of 4 wheel guns:
S&W 586 4"
S&W mod 19 3"
Colt Python 4"
Rossi 2.5"
2 1911's
5"...
my choices would be
22 S&W Model 41 or Ruger MKII
380 SIG 232 or Ruger LCP
9MM KAHR TP9 or Kimber Solo
40 Springfield XD or any of the HK guns
38 Colt Detective or S&W Model 36
357 S&W Model 19 or Colt Python
45 Wilson Combat CQB Elite or Nighthawk Talon II
Don't think there is a significant swing in firearm prices excluding used hunting rifles just after your local gun season closes. Pawn shops buy them up and will sell at reduced prices to avoid having them sit idle on shelves until sept of the next year
I have had great results with my DTI. The thing to remember is these are just leggo kits as there are just a handful (4 companies) that manufacturer their own parts and everyone else just stamps their name/logo on the components.
Own 2 X-bolts (243 Hunter and 30-06 Gold Medallion) cant go wrong with these rifles in my opinion. I also have 2 A-Bolts and cant find anything bad to say about them either.
Lots of great 22 pistols on the market I currently own a Ruger MKII, Hi-Standard Super Citation, S&W Mod 41 and a Colt 1911 rail gun in 22 LR. I have been very pleased with all of them
