    Missouri bullet company customer service

In early May my identity was stolen. This is a colossal pain in the backside, and if anyone offers you the opportunity to have yours stolen, I strongly recommend you turn it down. As part of this headache, the joker who stole me tried to change my address with the postal service. They told me...

Need powder suggestions for 45 Colt

I was about to mention Bullseye and Red Dot. I4227 is on the slow side, but my New Vaquero sure likes it, 15.5 gr, under 250 rnfp.

    Same lot code, different cans

Good thought on the refills idea, but nope, they were just purchased at the same time individually. I'll mix these two, but not the others of other lots that he gave me. Sure liked that 4227 in my 45 Colt!

    Same lot code, different cans

Last Fall my FIL gave me an unopened 1# metal can of IMR 4227. I subsequently opened it and used a little. A couple weeks ago, while visiting him, he gave me another partial can. The lot codes match, I'm sure they were stored together, they both pass the smell test. Can I combine them to save...

    Rifle powder A or B

Let's all pretend that powder is cheap and plentiful. I know it's a stretch, but play along. I've been loading plenty of pistol, but this summer I'm going to dive into the rifles. I intend to work up specific loads for each of the 6 rifles I have access to, but don't want to buy 48 different...

    Bullet alignment issue?

Very helpful everyone! Thank you! So, a factory crimp die will save this one, right?

    Bullet alignment issue?

Ok, here's my conclusion. An insufficient flare resulted in my not getting the bullet square. As the cartridge advanced into the die, the crimp groove didn't line up with the mouth of the case, so when the roll began there was nowhere for it to go, and the case buckled. The remedy then, is a...

    Bullet alignment issue?

About .010 long. I chalked that up to the bullet not going in though. Not sure which was the cause, and which the effect.

    Bullet alignment issue?

I was doing a roll crimp, the others lined up well. That would make sense that that could wad my cartridge like tin foil.

    Bullet alignment issue?

I was using the Lee expanding die, but maybe not enough. Didn't see any evidence of runout on any, even rolled a few around, but checking this one seems a bit silly now. ETA: I'm using the Lee powder through expanding die that came with the set, not the universal.

    Bullet alignment issue?

So loaded 50 rounds of 45 Colt. 49 are usable. This one didn't seat right. Was it an alignment issue or did I mess something else up? RCBS single stage, Lee die, 250 gr LRNFP, mixed brass (although this one was star line.)

Lgs has powder and primers on shelf over a week

I started reloading about 6 months ago, because that's when my FIL gave me all of his extra toys. (Prior to that I was sure it was all alchemy and voodoo!) So I've never seen anything but shortage. Current prices, while high, are less than factory ammo, and don't bother me due to ignorance. I...

    Pay it Forward in Reloading

I kinda hope CoalCrackerAl wins. My FIL has done his best to mentor me, from 400 miles away. But he did give me 85% of my reloading stuff. I love hearing about someone being taken under a wing!

45LC loaded with Red Dot w/250 gr bullets coated or un-coated?

I've been running 5.8gr Red Dot under 250gr lead with good results (could go hotter I think), this was the starting charge in Lymans 50th if I recall correctly.

Dry tumble - lid on or off?

Lid on, in a cupboard, on a towel. (Keeps the noise down.) But I kinda want to be a meat popsicle.
