New to reloading, need help with .32 ACP

Admin re-opened this old thread (per my mistaken request) so here's an update: Turned out these were Berdan primers after all. I debated enlarging the holes to use large pistol primers, but decided it wasn't worth the trouble. Now I have 100 rounds of nice clean .32 Auto that are useless...

AR pistol new build with issues

Because I'm going to the range tomorrow and would like to experiment with what I have on hand. I have lots of brass on hand. I"m considering making a buffer entirely of brass, except for the plastic tip. I turned a brass weight to fill the tube which got me to 3.9-oz. I'll see if that makes...

AR pistol new build with issues

Shawn, thanks, bookmarked. Looks like it would take 3 to get where I need to be. So, if the weights needed do not fill the tube, do people usually fill the balance with aluminum, nylon or something? I have had some where the weight can move back and forth inside the tube. Is there an...

AR pistol new build with issues

Since that first post I did some research on buffers. All the guidelines say a 10.5" pistol should use an H2 (4.6-oz) or H3 (5.0-oz) buffer. My kit came with a 3-oz buffer, which makes it an H1 - for 16" barrels. So I took it apart. the housing, crosspin and pylon tip all weigh 1 oz, and the...

    heads up on SA 35

My Hi-Power is a CD-HP, Hungarian parts assembled by Magnum Research. It's a VERY nice pistol, reliable and accurate. But I sure like the looks of those SA35s. I'm tempted, and Grabagun is a 30 min8te drive for me.

Guns you thought you’d like but didn’t…

Two for me: Springfield EMP - A work of art, but I never got used to the balance. Sold it last year. I decided my 1911s needed to be 5" barrels AMT Longslide Hardballer - Same deal. Nice gun, accurate and reliable, but feels nose-heavy. Still got it, need to sell it. OK, three: Ruger SR22...

AR pistol new build with issues

I bought 2 kits from a national brand company at a gun show last year. One of these was the 7.5" AR pistol complete kit less lower. Since completing this build recently, I am having cycling issues. The gun does not return to battery. All is well in the upper, but I note the buffer is 3-oz...

    Red dots on handguns

I agree, don't want one on a pocket pistol, which is the only way I carry. If I need to line up my sights at 7 yards in low light I'd better be shooting at a snakes head, not a torso.

    Red dots on handguns

I recently bought 2 identical Beretta pistols, APX Carry A1. These came with slide cuts and a free plate. The first one I bought the Holosun so bought a K-series green-dot for $240. I had presentation issues with that. If I brought the gun up it seemed I needed to tilt the barrel up to make...

    Kel-tec SU16c

I've had a SU16A for years, plan to keep it. It's a good truck gun, and when we do a road trip it rides along. Fun to shoot, and I love the mag storage in the stock. 35W, I like your barrel stabilizer wedge - thanks!. I may look into making something permanent to solve that problem.

What's Your Favorite 9mm Pistol to Shoot?

That's easy - My Star Model B. Looks and works like a 1911, with a better trigger and smoother overall feel. Dead accurate, and feels good in the hand. runs like a train. It's probably the most accurate 9mm I own. Actually have two. the other is too pretty to shoot.

    .22 autoloader recommendation

Here are my 22LR autoloaders in order of preference when I load up to go plinking. Ciener Target conversion over hand built receiver. Accurate, reliable, same weight as a real 1911 Browning 1911-22 - reliable, accurate, and just feels good in the hand Colt Walther Gold Cup - Nice enough, less...

New to reloading, need help with .32 ACP

Definitely not CCI nor aluminum. I know not to pick up aluminum cases. These are Sellier & Beloit out of a box of 500 I bought years ago. I have set them aside. Someday when I'm bored I may modify them to make wax loads for my 32 revolver. That's a good price at Graf, but for one pack of...

New to reloading, need help with .32 ACP

Much obliged W/Vickers! Update on thread. I set the .32ACP aside until brass becomes available. I toyed with the thought of boring out those holes for large primers and making some "sans Poudre" rounds. Working on loading some 380. Cleaned and capped, Lee primer worked fine. Will add powder...

    Micrometer suggestions

I have several boxes full of mics and caliper, digital and analog. I use only Mitutoyo digital calculators. Batteries last forever, never had a failed caliper. For close work, hard to beat a mic. Look for one that reads to 10ths .0001. These have 10 addition graduations on the body shaft...

    reasonable price, reliable conceal 9mm

It's not the size, it's the weight. I'm one of those without enough butt to support a gun on my hips. Shoulder holster maybe, but not in a Texas summer. For me, the only choice of those mentioned above would be the Ruger LC9s. Barely pocketable, slim and reliable. If it had night sights it...

    Colt 1861 Relic

Best anode for electrolytic de-rusting is a stick of graphite from ebay or maybe a welding shop.
