    Officer Needs Assistance

Now you're getting into the Twilight Zone/Outer Limits of PD management, where nothing makes much sense to mere mortals.

    Officer Needs Assistance

If you don't mind, keep us interested parties posted on your experiences. It could be that our suburban/rural department might also benefit from such a weapon. Thanks!

    semi-auto hunters

I don't think it's been mentioned so far, but Winchester's Model 100 autoloader comes to mind. I realize it's probably considered by some as a collector's item, but the 100 is still a viable hunting rifle IMO--especially in .243 or .308 caliber.

    Officer Needs Assistance

I don't personally own one, but FWIW here's another vote for the Beretta CX4 Storm in whichever caliber.

What is the most cool, obscure or rare gun you have ever fired?

    1. Bren Ten Marksman (.45 ACP)--Nice shooter! Too bad the company flopped. I believe that something on the order of a .45 Caliber "Special Forces" would be my favorite autoloading handgun. 2. Marlin 1894 in .41 Magnum (early 90's)--Shot well, but the action seemed a little stiff &...

Tell me the meaning of your screen name.

KPersimmon: No, it's not (necessarily) due to my sour disposition. :D Due to a bad domestic situation between my birth parents, I was adopted by my grandmother and her second husband (both of whom will always remain my "real parents," my Ma and Pa.) I was the apple of my Pa's eye, the...

Psychotic (?) editorial from London Daily

:D I think it's a miracle he can put a cohesive sentence together, let alone being coherent or logical. ;) I really don't know. I found it on the front page of The London Daily, which IMHO doesn't say much for that "news source", if you want to call it that... More...

    Bush Vs. Gore Poll

Funny...I got this message after I posted for George W: We're sorry, you've already voted in this poll! And I honestly haven't even voted!

Psychotic (?) editorial from London Daily

This probably isn't going to brighten anyone's day, but I thought I'd share this editorial from The London Daily, a apparently left-wing rag from across the pond: http://www.london-daily.co.uk/art/9-11hoax.htm Welcome to London Daily, a newspaper and guide from London, England, UK. This...

Wheelchair bound Brit arrested for self defense

Does anyone not see that such laws which effectively hamstring self-defense serve to create a safer working environment for the real criminals who prey on society?

Wheelchair bound Brit arrested for self defense

I apologize. I was the one who wasn't paying attention to the title of the thread. The man in the wheelchair was arrested for the illegal possession of CS spray (which, in addition, is not "pepper spray" like I said earlier) and not self-defense. "Wheelchair bound Brit arrested after...

Wheelchair bound Brit arrested for self defense

<<<when the wheelchair user gets done for assault, then the thread title is correct. until then, it isnt.>>> Someone's obviously not paying attention because the thread title is correct, according to the news story. So, if pepper spray is illegal in the UK, then the residents...

Wheelchair bound Brit arrested for self defense

I may be a crazy foreigner, but it seems to me that outlawing effective means of self-defense/defence is the same thing as outlawing self-defense itself.

How many of us lie to our wives/GFs bout how many gun we have purchased?

(Might've been a heckuva joke if they knew who Imelda Marcos was.) Well, I'm outa here.

How many of us lie to our wives/GFs bout how many gun we have purchased?

Sorry, I can't resist.... And I bet you say to her every day: "I LOVE YOU, IMELDA!" :D :o ;)

What would your fictional character carry?

It's been done before, but I'd like for a male action hero to have a Shansei Mauser in .45 ACP. For a female action hero(ine) maybe a 1934 Beretta.

    Arcus vs. R.A.P.

Concerns over parts and service availability were what prevented me from buying the South African-made R.A.P. (I was considering the 440 since I'm a .40 fan.)

US killers blame 'The Matrix' for shootings

From what I've read, the Matrix is supposed to have a "Buddhistic" theme, although true Buddhism has always had a strong moral/ethical base in addition to its spirituality. (This means it has nothing in common with Hollywood! ) If you think about it, The Matrix might refer to...

How many of us lie to our wives/GFs bout how many gun we have purchased?

Ha! I've never lied to either my wife or my girlfriend about such a thing... ...oopsie!!! :o Seriously: No, I wouldn't even consider lying to my wife about my gun purchases for several reasons. 1--Due to the implied lack of trust that some other posters have so eloquently...

    Beautiful Model 57 - but worth $1100?

<<<<I was at the book store later and found a pricing guide that said $450 NIB - this guy is asking $1100.>>> The cynic in me says: In a free market it doesn't matter what an item is actually worth, but what some fool is willing to pay.
