    Help! Miroku disaster!

This has flat mainspring. I'm going to tear into it soon. See if it's part damage or crud jam.

    Help! Miroku disaster!

Yes, when I got it it would cock and rotate in both DA and SA mode. However, I noticed it would not lock the cylinder in place after fully cocking hammer. Now after applying the cold blue, rinsing it off and flooding inside and out with Remoil it won't cock at all.

    Help! Miroku disaster!

So one of my wife's coworkers has this old Miroku Japanese .38 special that he had polished the last of the old blueing off and insisted that he would be fine with a cold blue job. Tried to talk him out of it but you know . Wasn't really locking up right but he swears it still worked. After I...

    Can this install be saved??

Yeah, Frog, I have learned the folly of "panic" gunsmithing lol. Now that I'm older and - maybe - a bit wiser I often walk away from a project and try to figure out another plan of attack. I have the luxury of being a hobby gunsmith, not a working one. No one starves if I don't turn projects...

    Can this install be saved??

Well I put this project aside, thought it over and ordered a few items to fix my mistake. I ordered multi packs of high grade 3/64" and 1/16" drill bits and a specialty 1 mm punch from South Korea. Also a six pack of assorted precision tweezers. Once I had these items, I took a Grace 1/16"...

Who has a Henry Single Shot and do you like it?

I was always an H&R Handi Rifle guy, but since they are out of pocket for the time being, who has real world experience with the Henry Single Shot? I'd like one in either 30-30 or 308, but would like reviews by owners . . . Thx!

new derringer just brought home today has anyone tried this brand?

Is this like it? If so, Bearman is made or distributed by Cobra Firearms out of Utah, I think. Steel barrels with an alloy frame.

Has anyone carried an American Derringer?

In point of fact, waaaay back in the day before before the state I lived in was "shall issue" on their carry petmits, I had an American Derringer in .357 mag. I carried it - loaded - for years as my backwoods camper's campanion. Mind you, it was a handful when you touched off the 158 gr...

What is your ONE EDC piece??

It wasn't until ten round QUALITY micros starting rolling in that I switched. Before that - once the law allowed choice in a CCW instead of a specific weapon - I carried either a S&W Model 60 .357 or the SP101. But twenty rounds of +P 9mm in the Sig P365 including a spare mag was a powerful...

    '70's Big Bore Concealed Carry

About 1980, I bought a blue Ruger Speed Six in 9mm. I put on a Tyler T-Grip and a colored front sight. I carried a couple of extra loaded half moon clips in a lil canvas pouch from the Army-Navy store. Not really big bore but impressive non-the-less. This is not mine, but it looked like this:

What is your ONE EDC piece??

Okay. If you have a dozen carry guns, whittle it down to one gun and one back up. Not the whole load out!! What is your ONE true EDC piece?? I carry a Sig P365 9mm. Only three improvements: Hogue grip sleeve (Dremil modified), new night sights and, even though mine has the "fixed" striker, I...

Rifles you adore that leave others scratching their head?

The one I miss the most is the Ultra in 25.06 with laminate stock. Longest kill I ever made was with handloads using that puppy. 417 yards whacked a coyote chasing deer off a cotton field in TN. Really good shooter that one!!

    Can this install be saved??

I have FIVE USA made 3/64" bits en route. That's my plan. And I ordered some micro tweezers to grip the broken bit as well. It will come out, one way or the other!

    Can this install be saved??

I've installed this MANY times on my own and friends guns, but the only other time a bit broke there was enough protruding to grip it and remove. I'm in no hurry as this is my personal firearm. I'm trying to see this as a LEARNING EXPERIENCE lol! ;)

Rifles you adore that leave others scratching their head?

"Yes. My Remlin 1984CB. .357 octagon barrel. I know it's not a "JM" stamped marlin. Its a badly made, rough as a cobb, bad copy put out by Remington. But it don't know that. Well fitted, very smooth, accurate. I sold a JM marked 357 carbine that was awesome and kept this one." Friend, that...

    Can this install be saved??

I ordered a set of these little micro tweezers. If I can get it to back out by a couple of good whacks I might twist it out yet . . .

Rifles you adore that leave others scratching their head?

Just don't let it go and stock ammo and brass. I have a 1974 Marlin 45-70 with the Ballard rifling that would likely be one of the last 4 or 5 I'd sell in hard times: I took off that scope and added Marbles buckhorn rear and green fiber optic front. Accurate as a man could want and those 430...
