I use WW 296 for the 629 S&W
dedicated a deer hunting load to Joe a former deer hunting partner [he passed in 2006]
it was a classic load I call it ''Head Bangers'' loads[primers marked with red paint]
loaded 4 target 44 mag and 2 Head Bangers for Joe ,,he limp wristed the first 4 and #5 got him...
Beagling a mold to make the casting a little larger
take shim stock and slice a small strip off .[001-.005 thickness]
then wrap it around the bottom of 1 block of the mold to space the 2 blocks apart
makes the diameter a little larger then size to make it round again

use to shoot the 429421 KT cast for pins
a mid range load works the best because it does not leave splinters on the table
full house loads usually leaves the bottom of the pin on the table and the rest splintered to pieces
best time was 6.5 seconds from the holster to last pin hitting the...

RCBS Cowboy dies in 38 S&W
got to spend some time sorting out the mess
either its the expander die or the sizer die
run the brass threw the steps
the shells wont chamber
I used a hand flaring tool and tap it a bit to flair the mouth
large enuf to start the slug
load the cast boolet and...
first mold I have is the 38-150-KT an RCBS worked great in my model 19 S&W
right now I am running ideal 38 HBWC and 44 HBWC for target shooting
would be nice to have a section on cast boolets here
I had C3-C4 done in 2011
recovery took a long time but was able to putz around in the loading room
just move slowly because things are not the same as before
are you still wearing a collar to restrict movement?
and are the staples out
Mike
what I do is take a similar lead bullet weight and match the starting powder charge
the 6.0 gr of unique is reduced from the recommended starting charge of 8.0gr
I am looking for around 550-600 FPS for punching paper with this HBWC
ill adjust the charge to get the most accurate round
I have a S&W Shield in 45 ACP for CC
a Cross Breed in side the waste band works great but prints a little with T shirts/Polo shirts
went to the Cross Breed belly band 2.0 and it conceals 100% so no one knows I am carrying at church doing security
biggest disappointment is the pockets for the...
FYI
#1 buck shot in 20 ga will only be 2 pellets per layer
use to reload #1 in 20 ga for my trapping partener and girlfriends dad
the pellets come out in pairs about 1'' apart in the pattern
they really will flatten a deer at close range out of a side by side
Mike
I am finding the same issue with loading 38 S&W
1.7 gr of red dot is a beam scale job and powder trickeler
only good thing is its for the ''pig popper''
used in processing pork
dont need many rounds
