USAF 2T251 here. I load cargo planes, mostly C-5s and KC-10s. When we're out on the flightline near an aircraft we must be wearing hearing protection and if the APUs are on then we have to wear double protection.
The APUs on a C-5 are bigger than the engines on most executive jets.
Most of us...
Great video, thanks for sharing. Maybe if more people see this they'll understand why we need firearms. Seems to me the guy did everything he could to get away, didn't draw untill he was cornered.
Active Duty AF here, just wanted to add that about.com has a lot of info about all the branches for anyone interested. Just about everything on there about the AF is correct so I'm guessing the other services are well represented.
This is the link to the CG section...
The IDF uses the M-16 for the most part because we gave them a whole bunch for really cheap (Read: We give them military spending money they can only spend in the U.S.)
Israel's new homegrown rifle, the Tavor TAR-21 is a sweet deal, probably the best modern military rifle in 10 years. I'd...
Didn't see any of these in here. Figured I'd spice it up a bit.
My new Taurus 605. ($320 NIB OTD)
Other side:
I guess 3.0 MP just doesn't cut it anymore.
Has anyone else here considered the possibility that an Iranian ex-SEAL in Iraq may have still been working for the Gov't in some indirect way?
Don't forget that Iraq has a pretty long border w/ Iran, and that Iran has been acting up lately. Iraq would probably be a pretty good starting place...
Cor-Bon .357 200 gr. Hardcasts
When I go hiking up in the Sierras, I carry a 357 snub just in case. I have it loaded with 38+P's for the less hairy type of predators, but I have a speed loader with the 200 gr. .357 cor-bon hardcasts in case I run into a bear. Not very fun to shoot a 24 oz. gun...
Well I sure am glad to see so many states with D's and F's from the brady bunch. I'm from Illinois so that wasn't too friendly (still have a FOID) and now I'm stationed in the PRC in one of the "you can't get a CCW without a sizeable donation to my re-election campaign" counties. It makes me...
All you need is little 1x1 lengths of a hard wood to stick in the track of the window. Still doesn't stop the would be criminal from braking the window, but I expect to hear that.
Wow.
What a steaming load. How the heck can these people get away offering commercially availible bullets with a moly coating and call it something it is most obviously not.
Thanks for opening my eyes folks.
Has anyone seen or fired the so called "Armor Piercing/Frangible" ammo on the History channel's "Bullets" show?
I was wondering how this is even possible. The distributor (Le Mas Ltd.) claims that the bullet can "sense" the temprature of the target. It supposedly will penetrate a cold target...
I went through AF basic in 2004, and we only had half a day with the M16A2, 80 rounds fired (40 practice, 40 qualification). Don't make fun but they made us carry plastic M16s during "Warrior week". What a load of donkey doo. I sure wish they trained us better, maybe some small unit tactics and...
Having lived in Israel for 9 years I can tell you the following:
1. All Israeli citizens serve in the Israeli Defense Forces (well, almost all) so they are trained and qualified in FA weapons.
2. Most Israelis Don't carry any weapon at all, it's mostly the people who live in what the...
I'd like some recommendations on what speedloaders to use on my 5-shot snubbie. HKS and Safariland seem to be the most widely availible, but I'm willing to look into whatever works best.
Thanks

Everything but THR
I'm at Travis AFB, and THR is one of the only gun-related sites not blocked.
I can get to some sites using an anonymiser, but that's pretty slow. You'd think that being in the military they would want us to be interested in small arms, but the are some pretty unfriendly...
