Already like that in VA. You still have to go through the metal detectors but you just show your CHP to the Capitol Police officer and they wave you through. And this includes Open Carry and Concealed Carry.

I prefer them to the LSWCHP if I'm loading my .357mag up with .38s since I believe it will be a little better at barrier penetration due to it having a jacket. It doesn't recoil any more than my Federal 158gr LSWCHP +P which I use in my .38.

stainless steel S&W autos...they weigh as much as a 1911 and are very easy shooting due to the weight.

I'll admit I've whacked my gun into the steering wheel when getting out of my vehicle, and into a wall when I first started carrying. But I've learned to watch what I'm doing and it stopped happening. Now I naturally keep my strong arm over my handgun when traversing close quarters, also helps...

I went with the XD. Having conventional rifling was a big plus as I shoot LRN .45acp ammo a lot since that's what I reload in that caliber. If I went with the G21, I would have had to buy an aftermarket barrel, adding at least another 120 onto the cost.

Not completely true...some police depts. / security companies were required to use a revolver chambered in .38spl, NOT .357mag. This is the same reason Ruger made a .38spl version of the Security Six, etc. when in the exact same gun they also chambered in .357mag. Now, the real question is, why...
