Just need to add in my keys and wallet and sometimes depending on the situation/dress minus the Glock... though that's the exception rather than the rule.
I prefer OWB for all my handguns. The LCP in a pancake holster disappears and is an actual pleasure to carry. I've come to the conclusion that carrying in the same manner makes a lot of sense from a training and proficiency perspective. I (IMHO) find that it helps with muscle memory response...
No, and I don't think I realistically could "get by" with less then 5. If I had to go down to 5 it would probably be as follows:
Ruger 10/22
Ruger 22/45
Mossberg 500
AR-15
Glock 26
Realistically, I shoot both of the .22's most often at the range. It's just a whole lot of fun for a reasonable...
I stated the P7 based off the definition of "novelty" as unusual. I felt the squeeze cocker qualified as such from a design perspective. I was basing the suggestion off of something that is to be used as a CCW. So in order for that to be the case it needs to be reliable, a proven design and...
In some regards it matters as to what your state laws are regarding concealed and open carry and "printing". In PA you can open carry... So overall I'm not all that concerned about it.
I generally carry OWB (sometimes with a t shirt as the cover garment) and I'm covered up well enough that no...
I have both the CZ 75b and the Glock 26 and I don't think you can go wrong with either. If you are looking to use it for CCW purposes, I think I'd opt for Glock 19 (or even the 26 if it floats your boat). Yes, you can CCW the CZ but the full size 75 feels exactly like a full size metal pistol...
I used to bring a whole lot more...
Generally, I always bring my CCW (by default), one centerfire handgun and my .22 pistol and rifle. I'll also generally pack the AR or Saiga if I'm spending time on the rifle range.
If I'm introducing a new shooter to firearms or getting together with a...
I voted yes. Mine has been extremely reliable and fills it's intended niche. The trigger is long and heavy, the sights aren't great (crimson trace helps in this regard) but it functions 100% and is as easy to carry as a pistol can be.
The LCP and G26 are the two that are currently in my carry...
I'm currently on the same pursuit as well. So most certainly best of luck to you and congrats on the weight loss thus far. I've found that calorie intake and exercise have worked the best for me.
If you have an iPhone or like "smart phone" you should check out an App called, "MyNetDiary". They...
For me the easiest without question is the Ruger LCP. I've actually been carrying it OWB as of late, and it basically carries like a cell phone on the belt. I just seem to have too much stuff in my pockets recently and OWB is easier for me to draw from. If I'm not carrying the LCP... It's a G26...
I sent off an email this morning to Jim Garthwaite at: http://www.garthwaite.com/ and he said I can call to make an appointment to come in and meet with him at his shop to discuss the project and go over the Commander. Is anyone familiar with his work?
Thanks,
Mike
Thank you all for your responses.
One of my biggest concerns was that I don't want to screw up a reliable and functional pistol. I was thinking that I should take the "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" stance. I just want to make sure I address as many items as possible the first time, to...
Let me preface this post by apologizing if this topic is a re-tread.
I have a box stock ORM 1991 Commander and would like some ideas as to what you would consider the essential (or desirable) upgrades to the pistol? I've had this commander for about 5 years now and it's been 100% reliable but...
I'm guessing my Spartan collection would be:
1. AR-15 in 5.56/.223
2. Winchester 94 in 30-30
3. Ruger 10/22 in .22lr
4. Garand in 7.62x51mm/.308
5. Mossberg 500 Persuader (8 shot/20") in 12g
6. Remington 1100 in 12g
7. Ruger MKIII in .22lr
8. Colt Commander in .45
9. Glock 26 in 9mm
10...
