Maybe a full mailbox will make more of an impression than an online petition.
When my Marvel does this, adjusting the tightness of the recoil rod on the slide stop fixes it. It usually needs to be just a tiny bit looser. I only run Mini-Mags in mine, or Stingers if I want more recoil. Also, all my mags are Colt Ace's ordered from Marvel.
I shoot A LOT but don't hunt. I've done Greyhound rescue and adoption for over 20 years, fostering over 400 dogs in my home. Three of my horses are permanently unsound thanks to stupid people who broke them down. I bought them knowing this, and they have a safe home with me for the rest of...
I had a custom Wilson Combat built with a bobtail, and it helps tremendously with ease of concealment on a 5'4" short-waisted female. It's easier to conceal than my CCO-size Kimber.
Others who have shot it feel the grip digs into their hands, but my hands are small enough that they stay...
I use the Bianchi X-15 for my Hi-Powers and 1911's. Size 02 is the one that fits. The harness is much more comfortable on me than the X-type, especially while driving long distances.
As a 5'4" female, I couldn't wear a horizontal shoulder holster even if it didn't bother me to have the...
Sometimes my 1911 goes in the dedicated holster pocket of the 20 lb. Maxpedition Versipack with everything else I own.
Suarez training and female anatomy has convinced me that appendix carry is the way to go. I use a Wilson Featherweight because I can adjust the cant by leaving the Chicago...
I carry a Wilson Combat 1911 in Condition 1, cocked and locked, always in a holster.
Before I switched to the major caliber, I carried a Hi-Power, also in Condition 1. Never, ever had a gun come off safe by itself.
I'm a single female who carries at home. I live alone out in the country with credible threats against me and my property documented with the county sheriff, state patrol, state fire marshal, and my attorney. I'd be stupid if I didn't carry at home.
My one-and-only ND happened at my very first IPSC practice match about a million years ago. I was shooting a Hi-Power that had not had the magazine disconnect removed.
At the end of my first run, I dropped the mag that still had ammo in it and ejected the chambered round to unload and show...
A Firestar Plus in the StarVel finish. A little over $200, and a nice little gun. I've never had a malfunction out of it.
A very pleasant surprise that I didn't buy but just test-drove was an STI Legend 2011 in .45ACP. As a small woman with small hands, I couldn't believe how well it fit...
Back when I first got involved with guns, I couldn't find a semiauto pistol I really liked. I rented and borrowed different guns until a female LEO friend had me try her FN Hi-Power. While she wasn't allowed to carry it on duty, it was her "headboard holster" gun. I loved it immediately.
I...
Plenty of 'yotes where I live, and any outside disturbances are investigated while armed. I don't "walk" my dogs since they have a dog door and securely-fenced area outside, and chase each other around enough to keep themselves in shape.
But I have retired racing Greyhounds, a GSD-mix, and a...
In the absence of medical issues, it just blows my mind when I hear about women who can't operate a trigger they can reach, or rack a slide.
Can she open a jar of pickles? Pick up and carry a child? Carry a grocery sack full of cans? If so, she's strong enough to handle a gun. It might...
Back when I drove a 15yo Cavalier, I had AAA on speed dial. As a 5'4" female, I pull off the road with windows up and doors locked, turn on the emergency flashers as long as the electrical system is still working, and call the motor club. Cell phone and weapon are handy but out of plain view...
For cowboy action mounted shooting, they have ear plugs for the horses.
I used to board my herd at a friend's farm. We would shoot there periodically, and the horses would just hang over the fence watching. Compared to my friend's grandchildren, gunfire was nothing.
I carry this
in a SmartCarry, Wilson Featherweight IWB, or Maxpedition Versipack depending on circumstances. Always carry two reloads.
I have a Commander-size Wilson custom build in the pipeline that will probably become my daily carry once it arrives.
If I absolutely can't find a way...
