so, I used WD-40 to lube a Colt Defender (this was before I knew that WD-40 is bad for weapons), will brake cleaner harm stainless steel finish? how about blue or nickle weapons?

    SW 357 vs 44 vs 460...

the 357 will be the lightest for recoil, you can also fire .38 special in it the 44 will be in the middle as far as recoil, you can fire 44 special in it which will be milder and comfortable to shoot the 460 will have the most recoil, but you can also fire .454 casul and mild 45 colt rounds in it.

    223,243 or 308?

have you considered the .204 Ruger round? do a google search and read what they say about it. low recoil, less powder used than many rounds (only important if you reload) flat shooting, won't wear barrels out like some other varmint rounds

    ruger alaskan...which caliber

I got mine in .454 Casull mainly because that was all I could find and the .44 magnum Alaskan was not yet approved for California sale. recoil with 240 grain 454 magtech is not bad. mild 45 colt rounds are very pleasant to shoot. the only downside is the cost of ammo. click here for a...

    .45 Colt ammo.

cheapest 45 long colts I have been able to find was a box of 50 reloads at the local sporting goods store for 19.99, no way you will find any for as cheap as 45 ACP. I would suggest looking into reloading.

    Ruger Alaskan Pic Request.

I just got a Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull. recoil with 240gr. Magtechs was not unpleasant. 45 Colts were very mild. the downside is that Alaskans might not be easy to find as I had been looking since March of 06 and the cost of ammo, may have to take up reloading. I don't have any 45 colt...

    mightiest revolver?

sharps shooter you asked about the Alaskan, I just got a Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull. fired it for the first time at the range, shot a box of 240 gr. magtechs and a box of 45 Colts. the magtechs had a bit of recoil, not at all unpleasant to shoot, the 45 colt loads were very mild and very...

    Favourite Ruger wheelgun?

well, I only have one Ruger wheelgun, an Alaskan in .454 Casull. it is a pussycat to shoot with mild .45 long colt and 240 gr. Magtech .454 was easily controllable. have not tried any "hot" 454 loads yet.
