Surplus Mosin's are a hit and miss thing sometimes... I got my M44 from a chain store. They just recieved 3 in. I looked at the prices, one of them was marked $50. I asked to see it. the wood was beaten and had a small crack. Hence the low price. The rest was brand new! the bolt face had no...
I am a member of ar15.com..... Made a reply too a post there about what I thought was the best adhesive this gent had.. I made a comment about barrel bedding a benchrest rifle.. Basic outline to glue a portion of the barrel to the stock. Free floating the rest of the barrel and the action.. Do...
Go out and buy a can of truckbed spray paint! Adds texture, a nice uniform finish. Wears great! and protect the wood from scapes and dings. If you ever wear thruogh it.. give it another coat! And it has a nice dull finish. B
There are a couple of ways that I use to remove copper.. First up was Sweets 762. works very good. Next up.. JB bore cleaner/Remclean, both work well, but took lots of patches and elbow grease. Finally I found how to make my own electric bore cleaner ( foulout ) and since then I not looked...

I used Tubbs' final finish on mine, really made an improvement! Better accuracy. From ave 5/rd groups .5moa to less than .3 moa at 200yds! Easier cleaning! I didn't use the first two coarsest grade bullets.. just enough to clean things up...
That blue band IS the lube!!! No need for anymore.. As for seating depth... seat them as any factory roundnose, yes the blue band will be in the case mouth. That way the " lube" will not pick up any dirt and carry it to your bore!
Recrowning is getting a perfect cut on the end of the muzzle. The base of the bullet is released from the barrel all at the same time. General cost of cut and recrown is $35-50. I've read somewhere to .308 will not lose too much fps when cut 18'' from 22''. 16" is alittle short ( Ruger...
Why does it have to be a factory 18"??? Get any rifle you like and have the muzzle cut and recrowned.... I have a Rem 700 ADL, I turned into my first scout, had the barrel cut to 18.5"... shoots about 1.5 MOA. What more do you want?
One sub moa group, does not make a sub moa rifle!
I only have one rifle that will do .5moa at 200 yds consistantly! and it took alot of mojo going into it, I can't say you won't get one out of the box.. but the odds are against you.
Look at all the ads for sub MOA rifles for sale.. Most of...
I have a 700adl in .308win that I used a Burris scout mount on. I like it better than the B-sq. It uses Redfield rings instead of weaver. ( personal pref. ) It has worked very well for me. The only thing I have heard bad about the b-sq.. Is that the mount tends to be alittle soft.. With Weaver...
