Commercial ammo shouldn't cause so much pressure to extrude the primer. Odds are the firing pin was sticking out too far.

Hows about more info on the ammo. Is it hand loads? Typically a firing pin should protrude .050" to .055" from the bolt face.

Make sure the recoil spring is in the right way. The curly half goes into the bolt carrier. If it's backwords it'll cause the bolt carrier to hang up.
