wow, this thread really got a better reception than i thought it would! its good to hear that other people have sentimental feeling towards some of their guns.
well this is the problem. Its not really my first gun. It is my first handgun and the first one i bought on my own. My actual first gun and the one i learned on is this old .22 bolt action from Montgomery Ward, and a 20 gage shotgun that my dad bought at a garage sale for $20 for them both...
So how many of you still have your first gun? I'm talking to the people that have been into guns for a while, and have had a few. Maybe the collectors and such.
If you still have your first gun are you glad you have it, for the fact that it was your first not just because it's a good gun...
can anyone tell me if there's any difference in the quality of the beretta M9 when made in USA or Italy? i found where i can get a brand new one made in Italy a little cheaper than i can get one made in USA. Is there any difference in the pistols at all?

well i had gone to the gun shop and picked up an XD and feel in love. it jsut felt perfect.
so today i went and picked up my Stainless Steel XD .45acp Service. i shot 140 rounds through it today (kept 10 to leave in the mag for home defense) no problems, and the gun felt amazing. definately...
that is a nice looking taurus. and i have heard from friends that their quality control has gotten much better and are now pretty nice guns. ill check that one out too.

ok i went to the gun shop today and held everything they had. i did not like the feel of the ruger p-series at all. i liked the feel of the 1911's (but ive shot plenty of them before). but my favorite ones just by feel and looks were the glocks and the sprongfield XD. and the XD won that battle...
