Amazing use of a 1875 Remington Army .45 Long Colt

Wow, what a story. And what an interesting choice of sidearms by the GO as a SD weapon- the M1875 Remington SAA !! So the GO actually shot the BG three times ? And the BG still had enough steam left to engage the GO physically after being shot [3] times with a 45LC handgun ? Not exactly what...

Refinishing a handgun from nickel to blue

Yea, that sounds about right. Someone mentioned that one could as easily buy another gun, and on a certain level that's true. But if you want true rust blue and authentic bone charcoal case color, that isn't going to be found in a $400.00 Italian import.

Refinishing a handgun from nickel to blue

" I have been looking at a similar project. Nickel strip only adds $30-$40 to the cost for refinishing but the blue-case job will be $200-$300 " Wow, compared to someone like Turnbull that's cheap. Who does similar quality bluing/ case coloring at that price range ?

Refinishing a handgun from nickel to blue

Regarding firearms refinishing, is there anything inherently more complicated[ read more expensive ] in refinishing a nickled gun to blue [ and subsequently case coloring the frame ] ? From this, to this

    Let's see some single actions!

Thanks gb6491, that's a USFA 45LC I stumbled across at a great deal. Having had many original Colts over the years I can honestly state the USFA is every bit as finely executed a SAA as any post-1898 Colt I personally have ever owned.

    Walker

That's a nice looking Walker, surprised that it's a Navy Arms, I also think the asking price is too high. [ on second look ALL of Collectors BP pistolas are priced very high, IMHO] Good looking Walker though...

    The THR Walker Club

Thanks Phil, very nice of you to say. To be honest the Walker is a 'hipful' in terms of constant carry, I think if I had to do it everyday all day I'd probably throw my back out :o ! Fortunately this gun+holster rig has spent most of its time hanging on the horn of a saddle [ hammer on an empty...

    The THR Walker Club

Oyeboten, Thanks, that's an Uberti Walker and leather holster, belt and cap pouch. The gloves are my old ranch work gloves. I've had this for a LONG time, many .44 ca balls sent down range. The wear really is a product of being used, shot and carried in the pictured holster-and around horses for...

Uberti Henry Rifle with magazine damage!

Wow. For years I've heard mag tube warnings regarding lever action rifles and rounds sitting end to end in the mag tube but this is the FIRST time I've seen such damage.

    Range Report- Mossberg 930 SPX

This gun has now shot 200 rounds in total, all of these with only rudimetary cleaning of the gun. I've added a few accesories which seem to be working well ; a Surefire E2DL Defender light, Nordic Components barrel mag clamp+rail and a VLTor light mount. The mounts have thus far successfully...

    Range Report- Mossberg 930 SPX

Another installment of my new 930 SPX range report, put another 25 rnds of the Fiocchi Reduced Power HP slugs and [5] five Federal full power HP slugs as a warmup. Then I shot 45 rnds of Federal 7 1/2" game loads, all of them but one[ again in the first mag full, a slight tap on the bottom of...

    Range Report- Mossberg 930 SPX

Just returned from the range for another test run of the 930 SPX. At the beginning of the test I shot [5] Fed '00' rounds and [10] of the Fiocchi Reduced Loads, these all without a hitch. I then went to Federal 7 1/2" game loads, and of the fifty shot I had one hang up from the mag to the...

    Range Report- Mossberg 930 SPX

Range Report continued- Mossberg 930 SPX For me its perfect and I definitely prefer it to the original stock. As has been noticed there is a very slight 'step' where the receiver meets the stock as it isn't perfectly flush, that said its hardly noticeable and definitely doesn't detract, either...
