What powder do you suggest for 45 ACP for a new reloader?

I shoot both USPSA and IDPA, at least two matches a month. I use Winchester 231 with 200 grn SWC cast lead bullets. I use 5.5 grns of 231 and this makes a good low recoil load that is accurate. Between me and my son-in-law we load around 400 to 500 rounds a month. Been very please with the...

So I bought another revolver… 2nd one this month! (very long)

Cousin Mke - I have several of the Maxfire speedloaders that I use with my Colt Python for IDPA and USPSA. They work quite well but they are made of a hard rubber and can be rather stiff when new. I lubricate them often during a match so that the rounds slide out easily. I use a non petroleum...

    Ruger KP 345 Range Report

I've had one of these since last October. I like it. It fits my hand well and it shoots very accurate. I have some minor problems with FTE. I found the problem happens most opten if the gun hasn't been cleaned recently and oiled. When this happens at the range I just drop some oil on the slide...

Does anyone have a Mernickle holster?

I have one for a Ruger P345 and two double magazine holders. These are of superior quality and workmanship and fit the gun perfectly. Got the belt too and wear it all the time even when not carrying. I shoot IDPA and get alot of remarks and questions about the rig. I recommend them highly.

    Got some questionable hand loads

9mm factory loads are cheap enough that you don't have to endanger yourself with someone elses questionable handloads. Around here you can go to Wally World and buy 100rnds for about $10 and have peace of mind.;)

    Are all primers the same?

We use a Lee progressive loader and the book says not to use Remington primers because they may ignite during seating. Never heard of this happening but I think it's interesting that Lee would single out a particular primer manufacturer.

what am I doing wrong with my KP345

DRY FIRING THE 345 BE CAREFUL DRY FIRING THE 345 TOO MUCH. THIS PISTOL HAS A MAGAZINE OUT SAFETY (CAN'T REMEMBER PROPER TERM) THAT PREVENTS THE PISTOL FROM FIRING WITHOUT A MAGAZINE SEATED IN THE GUN. DRY FIRING THE 345 WILL DAMAGE THIS MECHANISM.

what am I doing wrong with my KP345

KP345 I'VE HAD MY 345 FOR ALMOST A YEAR, DON'T SHOOT IT AS MUCH AS MY 1911 BUT IT IS VERY ACCURATE. YOU MAY BE PUSHING AT THE END OF THE TRIGGER PULL. IT IS A LIGHT GUN AND THE KICK CAN MAKE YOU PUSH WITHOUT REALIZING IT. I AGREE, LET SOMEONE ELSE GIVE IT A TRY AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
