    FHN FNS 9mm Review

I have an FNS-9 and I love it. 1911 grip angle and comes with a flat backstrap that matches my flat mainspring housing on my 1911. It's solid and well made, and so far (300 rounds or so) perfectly reliable. A great value with tritium night sights and three mags. To top it off its made in the USA...

    Would you buy this?

Do you want it now because of the impending mag cap legislation? If so I would try to track down the mags now and buy the gun new when available.

    Bud's Model 10 Police Trade-in

The one I picked up from Bud's was manufactured in 1996. It is in good shape with some character. I put some Nill grips on it to dress it up a bit.

    Any 'oddball' recommendations

Check out Caracal. If you can past that they are Saudi they look interesting and have gotten great reviews. Designed by a guy that had a hand in both Steyr and Glock designs.

Are the new Smith Classics better made?

I picked up a model 17 Masterpiece. Looks as good as any, perhaps better, save the internal lock. Very nice trigger too.

    S&W M10 Club

I was just wondering, is the Model 10 so much of a classic that it would be inappropriate to upgrade it to modern times? For example with a modern coated finish and laser grips? Right now I'm debating buffing up my new old police trade-in 10 with a shiny new blue finish and wood grips, or the...

    S&W M10 Club

I just picked up a police trade in from Bud's. I was wondering how I could find out what year it was made. After I posted I called Smith & Wesson and they told me.

    Getting a 1911

In that price range, I would say STI Tojan. It's slightly more expensive, but you won't regret it. Just save up a couple hundred more dollars and put off the purchase for a month.

S&W Incentives When will They Return

I think that they were incentives to get people to try out the M&P series. Now that everyone knows it is a good design and they are selling like hot-cakes, I doubt they are going to cut into the profits for no reason.

    Another 1911 Thread

STI for sure. I had a Trojan that went 2000 rounds without an issue before I sold it to fund something else. Great gun.

So I changed the mainspring on my new SW Model 17

Thanks BCRider, I'll try that before I switch the spring back.

So I changed the mainspring on my new SW Model 17

This is a brand new model 17. The factory spring was like a wedge of steel, probably 20lbs+ pull. This one, http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=86943&langId=-1&isFirearm=Y Besides that it's a gorgeous gun, I mean really...

So I changed the mainspring on my new SW Model 17

To the Wolf Reduced Power spring. I went to the range for the first time today and it only ignited the primer probably 50% of the time. Very frustrating to say the least. Now I have to order a stronger spring, take the side plate off again and change the spring. Real PITA. Just a heads up for...
