    Rabbit scared to death?

Sometimes I have to stop and try to figure out where some people get their brains from, then I realize that's just a lost cause and continue on with life. Really dude, stomp it's head? What about a knife, something just a smidge more humane... (this coming from an avid hunter).

what firearm have your parents/grandparents passed down to you

I inherited from my Grandfather about 10 years ago a 1967 Winchester Model 100. He bought it new in '67. Has taken a lot of deer over the years, including one myself this season. Will never part with it. He had 5 or 6 guns but our whole family is into hunting so they got distributed among my...

    Winchester Model 100 Base/Rings

Hey all. I'm looking for a base and rings and having a heck of a time. The only base that I've come up with for this particular rifle is this Redfield. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=471745 I can't seem to find any rings to go along with that base and it doesn't have to...

    Military hearing protection?

My Grandfather who is nearing 90 years old, was in WWII and can't hear a lick, even with his hearing aids in you have to yell at him. There was no hearing protection in combat.

Hardest kicking gun you've ever shot?

Has to be my grandfathers 12 gauge with 3" turkey magnums. I can't remember what it is, I believe a Remington (I know, very vague)

    One Eye or Two Eyes

I've always shot 1 eye opened. My grandfather taught me to shoot that way starting when I was 5 and I've just grown accustomed to it after all the years. Never even tried 2 eyes open.

    Ever hurt by a firearm?

The only gun injury I can recall so far is getting smacked in the eye by the scope on my .30-30. I'd shot it at least 100 times and for some reason I was just a weeee bit too close that time. Didn't split me open but hurt like hell.

First Firearm You Ever Fired ?

Some sort of semi-auto .22 rifle. I was with my uncles and grandfather sighting in their hunting rifles before season opened. They brought the .22 along to allow me to shoot as well. I was probably 6 or 7 at that time.

    Quick Question On CCW

I got my permit about 6 months ago. When I applied they were running 90-120 days. It changes all the time. You can call Nashville (866) 849-3548 and ask what the current times are. I called at 90 days and asked how much longer it'd be, she looked it up and said "i'll get it sent out tomorrow."...

    Hunting Shows

Just now I'm sitting here watching a hunting show. The guy was bow hunting. He literally shot the deer in the hind quarter. You could clearly see the arrow and the deer was running without moving his rear leg. And mysteriously the guy walks up on the deer dead as a door nail. Riiiiight.

Winchester Model 100 .308 safety question?

Well heck, no body has ever had problems with it yet so I think I'll just get out and shoot it and be extra careful incase of any slamfire's or anything. I think once I get home today I'll give her a GOOD cleaning.

Winchester Model 100 .308 safety question?

Awesome Mark. I appreciate it. I found out that it was manufactured in 1965. I definitely need to check on the recall because I'm going to assume my Grandfather probably had no idea about the recall. He never had any problems with it but that's not saying that one can't arise. Is the firing...

Winchester Model 100 .308 safety question?

Hey guys. Sorry to bring up an old thread but I finally got my grandfather's model 100 in my possession. He passed away several years ago and this rifle was handed down to me. How do I tell what year it is from? Also, are there any special ways to clean this older rifle? From what I remember, I...
