Ha, I have 6 22's, mostly savages mark ii's. As for varmint rifles, I rarely varmint hunt and if I do it's coyotes with suppressed rifles. The 223 AR's I have vary from 10.5" to 20" and the 243's are standard hunting rifles.
I like 308 offspring. I like 243, 260, 7mm-08, and 358. I think the 338 federal is kind of a dud as I think the the 338 doesn't have enough powder to make it more than a short range caliber and the 358 is a better thumper at short ranges.
I think the 7mm-08 does everything better. To me it's what the 308 should have been. It almost feels like a compromise to go 308. 7mm-08 has better BC, less recoil, and I like being non-mainstream
I hunt and target shoot. I already have multiple 300AAC and the ballistics are similar to 6.8 out to 200 yards. That's why I was looking at the grendel or 6mmAR for the AR15
OK, let's start with a partial inventory of my rifles:
Bolt 6.5x55 with 28" barrel
Bolt 6.5x55 with 24" barrel
Bolt 300 WSM 24" barrel
Bolt 358 Win 20" barrel
AR10 7mm-08 24" barrel
AR10 358 Win 20" barrel
a few 243 hunting rifles
multiple 300AAC and 223 AR15's
Here is what I have to work...
I recently acquired an old Bonaza Forster Model 68 reloading press in incomplete form. I have just the press itself and would like to obtain the priming parts for the press. If anybody has any information where I can get the parts please let me know. I've already called Forster and they have...
Reloading isn't an issue. I'm getting .4-.6 moa at 100 meters out my tikka t3 lite hunting rifle. Ballistically, I prefer the 7 mag over other offerings such as the 300 mag. It is just as flat of a shooter with less recoil and will kill anything I hunt.
Looking to spend under 1 grand for this rifle. Plan to used it for long range target plinking and hunting. I had looked at building a savage but the price to build would be similar to what they already offer, and much more of a headache since there isn't a gunsmith near here I trust. I REALLY...
looking for a heavier barrel 7mm rem mag rifle. i know savage has the 111 long range hunter and remington has the 700 sendero sf ii. any other options? i would love to find a tikka super varmint but i don't think beretta imports them to the US.
I added this to my original post but is the 50mm tube on the e6500 worth the extra $60 over the 42mm?
And yes I'll post range reports but it'll prolly be a month before I can. I am buying this rifle and scope with the money from selling my tikka SS lite 7mm mag and zeis conquest to my brother...
No scope with this rifle, just rings which I can't use if I get a 30mm tube scope. Rifle is in immaculate shape, has about 150-200 rounds through it. So if it would cost $545 with the rebate for the rifle and transfer fees then I'm saving $145 for this rifle. Hope it shoots as good as I expect...
i'm purchasing a .308 remington 700 tactical sps from my neighbor for $400. i'm not buying the leupold scope he has on it so i'll need another scope. any feedback on the bushnell e6500? i can get a new 2.5-16x50 30mm mildot e6500 for $539 which i thought was a pretty good deal. i will be using...
i like ithaca products. can't really say why but i do. been looking at the x5 and x15 lightning but i can't find any info on how well they shoot. are they accurate? are they a pain to keep functioning properly? does anybody here have one that they can comment on? what is the difference between...
remington 552 hands down. grew up shooting one. the cool thing is that you can shoot 22, 22 short, and 22 LR. the tube feed can be awkward but it also holds more rounds than a magazine if i'm not mistaken. it is at my dad's and i haven't shot it in a while but IIRC it holds something like 15 rounds.
the first has a really nice stock. strong circle P cartouche and DOD cartouche. serial number 1472643. SA barrel dated 11/65 with the imprint (sa 6535448 11 65 md51). bolt stamped (D28287-12SA over W10A). SA op rod stamped (D34382 6 SA). old style SA trigger assembly stamped (D28290-12-SA). not...
