Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Thanks Old Fluff, Upon looking closer there are some fine machining marks where the serial #'s should be under the barrel and on the rear of the cylinder so someone definatly removed the serial #s, the bottom of the butt has too many fine rust pitts to see any machining marks. Whoever removed...

    Hunting with military pattern weapons

I live in grizzly country and since they've been reintroduced in the local area( read forced down the locals throats by out of state tree huggers) I prefer to take my M1A into woods with me just in case.

The Sad Story of American Hunting Rifles

Actually when in grizzly country I've been known to use a sks, a L1A1 or (currently) a M1A. Do I spray alot of rounds out hoping to hit something? No, but having encountered griz while out deer hunting I prefer the ability to throw alot of lead fast IF I need to. So far I've seen the bears...

First time with the M1A at the range.

CMI are the current suppliers of M14 mags to Uncle Sam. They are totally mil-spec and function fine in my M1A.

    Romanian ak problem.

I had the exact same problem with my AES-10B. After checking each part over and comparing it to my other ak's I found a small "hump" in the bolt carrier's groove for the bolt to "cam" in. I took a dremel and ground it down flush and now it works fine.

Who here uses a Romak as a serious weapon?

My wife's WASR is ultra reliable and so is my AES-10B ( romy rpk) and my romy G ak pistol. The ak design is pretty basic and reliable no matter which country it comes from.

What CCW is meant to be shot "a lot"?

A steel frame snubby can be carried and shot alot both. Same with the cz-82/83. My most carried pistols are a 2" S&W mod. 10 and a cz-82. Makarov ammo is available cheap from AIM Surplus right now.

    Woods Rifle

Your sks will work fine for the purposes you've stated, but if you'd like to buy another another rifle an ak with a folding stock makes for a compact gun that you can sling on your shoulder. As an added plus you can use the same ammo as your sks. When I'm wanting a compact rifle to tote I carry...

How many of you car carry?

Montana has no restrictions on having a gun in your vehicle, openly or concealed. If traveling locally I have a pistol, if traveling any distance away from home or work I'll throw an AK in the trunk with 3or 4 mags.

    Surplus Sidearms

CZ-82, S&W 1917, Webley MK II, Enfield MK VI. I've ccw'd the first three. The CZ-82 makes a great concealed carry piece. All are proven combat weapons. Remember, humans haven't physically changed in the last hundred years. What was lethel then is still lethel now.
