This incident happened on Friday morning on the way to work.
My wife and I were carpooling to work and stopped at the gas station to fill up and get some coffee. We stop in about 2 or 3 times a week and it is always the same nice attendant behind the counter. He knows us pretty well and...
Standing Wolf,
The family of the guy who did this are devastated by what he did. They are washing their hands of him. They have all been terrorized by him in the past. His own father took out a no-contact order on him after being beaten by him.
It was a typical case of a guy with...
We just returned from dropping off some food for the officers and a card for the family at the police station. Officer Maher was at our house returning some stolen property on Friday.
I'm glad I said thank you.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and co-workers.
911 in Northern WA state
Had a story on the news last year about a guy who was in an auto accident in Snohomish County in Washington State. He dialed 911 from a cell phone and it was routed to Canada, who said they couldn't help him and couldn't contact anyone in the US.
I'll see if I can...
Federal Way Discount Guns has a good selection of both handguns and rifles. Butches on Aurora near Green Lake has a good selection, but I haven't been there in a while. The Marksman in Puyallup is still there and good place to check out. There is also BullsEye in Tacoma, at least if they...

King 5 news in Seattle just had a story about a disabled man who ended a home invasion robbery by shooting one of the men. They both got away, but one was bleeding when they left.
You have to register to read the story on their site. I refuse to register.

I was an EMT on a situation where a man had done the same thing twice before. We weren't called until the third time when he pulled the trigger.
Not a happy situation for anyone involved.
Keep the gun away from your BIL.
Owner of my company said he keeps a .32 in his car at all times. I didn't say anything about the .45 in my shoulder holster. (It's a .38 in the summer.) I also didn't comment about the unattended gun in an unprotected (commonly stolen) luxery car, but I tried not to groan.
Never had anyone ask to borrow one but I did loan one out because of the following:
He is a deputy prosecuting attourney (don't know why he didn't have one just because of that)
He was running for office and started getting threatening e-mails. He asked if I knew anything about guns and...
.44
I keep a .44 mag in the closet. I have two reasons for this:
1) Most times, eventually if you are hostage they will let you go to the bathroom.
2) If a house-guest forgets to turn on the fan after doing their business.
Weight lifting gloves
They are hard to find, but weight lifting gloves that have a strap that goes around the wrist once or twice will help. Don't get the kind that have just a little strap of velcro.
My wife has a genetic problem that causes all of her joints to be extremely loose and...
Some additional good ones.
I did like Emergence. Just somehow forgot about it.
The Folks of the Fringe by Orson Scott Card. - Card has some other good ones.
Warrior and Wanderer and Witch by Donald E. McQuinn (3 book series)
I have another, but I can't find it and can't remember...

A friend in the military sent this link to me a few days ago. I'm still trying to decide if it is real or not. Any opinions from those of you with a little more experience with night vision/bombing runs?
Thanks,
