    Deer heart - any idea?

I did not save the heart, cooked it and fed to the chickens. I have to point out that the tissue came off of the heart and after that the heart looked normal. all other organs looked good, lungs did look a little off but again, I chocked it up to bullet passing through. we do live adjacent...

    Subsonic handgun ammo ehhjfor deer

I've used a 300blk/300 whisper with a 220 gr bullet. Taken several deer with one, at 50yrds its a "no brainer" for shot placement. mine is more of a rifle platform but it makes you wonder, seems a 230gr 45ACP at 1050fps would do the same damage. except the 300 bullet is a lot longer and...

    Deer heart - any idea?

I did hear the deer wheezing, cussing, and muttering something about the hill being higher than he remembered. ;) our chickens found he heart palatable. the liver and the rest of the meat looked ok from what I could tell. lungs looked a little funny but I mauled them pulling them out...

    Deer heart - any idea?

Took this out of a little spike this season. Don't recall having seen this before, normally the heart comes out pretty clean. Looks like maybe a fatty tissue buildup around the heart? Any other opinion on it? thanks

    questions about spears

i think the roman pilums were in fact made like #2 and they worked pretty well for a while. ;) one could assume that they expected to follow the animal to its death after sticking it with one or two heads and could retrieve them later....

    questions about spears

that is very cool. i seem to remember something similar used as a harpoon at one point (except the tip was tethered to the shaft and probably more easily detachable) thanks for the links!

    questions about spears

I like the idea of the spear, not for any particular "practical" use around the house or anything but lately I've wanted one for some reason... happens from time to time. ;) Anyhow, it seems to me there have been 3 major ways to attach a head of a spear to the shaft throughout history...

duracoat a revolver - timing issues?

would applying a coat of duracoat finish to a revolver be a poor idea? i have a S&W airweight 38 that is really showing some wear. i'm gonna be re-finishing a bunch of rifles and figured why not. would i have to mask any areas off? i know people do it, browse here...

    would this work?

i may be. i had a buddy of mine who owned a gunshop who told me about it. i've never seen it first hand. my concern is only cause 22lrs are cheap and i like to shoot a LOT of them. FWIW 1000 rnds might be downrange in the first month. :) so i like to know its not gonna give up the ghost...

    would this work?

im sure i could get stainless but theyre heavy as bricks. which i dont need in a 22 :) i'm pretty sure I've seen people hard chrome revolvers before and i dont think it causes problems. people have them nickel plated, chromes, duracoated, robared etc... woods trails. i like the idea of...

    would this work?

i've always wanted a S&W 317 for a trail gun but i hear the aluminum on the cylinder and frame tends to gall with a lot of shooting would having it hard chromed to get rid of that problem? kind of like case hardened aluminum. all the weight savings w.out the problems

    Home Security - Window Film

well, i dont know. explain the difference and i will tell you. I have seen some films that instruct the installer to apply soap and water to the window before application of the film then squeegy out the fluid while applying the film. I believe i have some from Hanita that is more of a peel...

    Home Security - Window Film

FWIW I don't see anyone singing Shattersafe praises. But maybe we're following different threads. ;) Al, does your film have the peel and stick pressure activated adhesive or the water activated type? how about yours pieceofmind2100? do either of you see benefits one over the other? on a...
