    Beware of 45 GAP brass

As you note the GAP has a small primer. This alone will keep you from ever loading a GAP case by mistake as it will not make it through the priming station.

    9mm casting

I have sized down and loaded/shot the new Lee 158 gr RNFPL bullet. The one that looks like it is a cowboys style bullet with the flat point. I just ran it through my .356 die on my Star and loaded it up with some slower powder AA#5 and they shot good.

Were to get 14.5x114 russian brass

All the rounds I ever saw were steel cased so the same thing in brass may be hard to find.

    surplus projectiles

I had a Lee sizer for cast bullets and when I got the pulled tracers I ran a bunch through it after lubing without any problems. Not sure if it is worth doing but I did it any way.

Has a G3 or clone ever jammed!?!

I have had my HK91 since the 80's and have never had a jam but as many have said, I tend to take good care of it. On the subject of reloading the brass from them, I have done it and while it doesn't look pretty it works. I found that the thing that trashes the case more is the ejector. It...

    Current .45 ACP carbines

I own a Camp 45 but as soon as I got my AR15 in .45 ACP running I haven't shot it since. My big complaint was capacity and I solved that by building an AR in .45 ACP that uses 30 round grease gun mags. I also like that it is not a different manual of arms than my .223.

    Shotguns in the movies

What was the PG that Reese pulls off his back in Aliens? Come on, people, what about Romancing the Stone! I think Michael Douglsa uses a Winchester, but it's a great shotgun movie, with actual reloads and everything. In both films the shotgun was a sublegal Ithaca model 37. "For those close...

    Georgia Arms 10mm Ammo

Hmmm, sounds like someone is using a non existing conditon as a scapegoat for his poor ammunition. If he want's performance withotu pressure he needs to use a slower buring powder. Most likely he is using a faster buring powder because it is cheaper and doesn't want to change to a slower...

    Need cast bullet company info

They made that bullet for loading .41 Action Express rounds. I know, I still have some I haven't loaded yet. If you are looking for bullets for loading the .41 AE there are very few choices left. The 185 SWC that Penn sells will work but you have to seat it past the crimp groove. You can also...

    rifles in 45acp?

I just finished my AR 15 in .45 ACP that uses Grease Gun Mags. Feels just like an AR but shoots 30 rds of .45 ACP. This has just replaced my Camp carbine as my #1 fun gun to ashoot steel with. If you look over on AR15.com and the Cav Arms industry forum there is a big long thread about it...

    7.62X39. HP or FMJ?

One thing to remember when comparing Wolf FMJ or HP is that the HP is simply the FMJ with the tip cut off. I had some HP's and wanted to see if they had enclosed bases like a real HP does and I found the base was exposed the same as the FMJ. When I looked at them togeather the bullets were...

    Scored some Wal-Mart slugs

I stocked up on some of these a while back. I cast and load my own slugs so I never shoot factory stuff but for that price they can sit in my ammo locker. Neal in AZ

    Ballistic or primer mark?

Some manufacturers do mark their primers like that. I know CCI marks their match rifle primers with a little "B". Since this is a 9mm case I would guess that the round was probably a "lead free" round. A lot of the Lead that you can get from firing regular ammunition is actually from the...

    .45 acp lever action

Why not get a Marlin Camp 45 in .45 ACP? That is the best companion for your 1911 since is uses the same magazines. It is a semi-auto carbine and is great. Unfortunatly they are not made anymore but you can still find them out there.

    800X and the 10MM

I worked up a load for my Glock 20 using 800X and was pushing a 200 gr. Hornady XTP at 1,275 fps out of the factory barrel. I like the load but 800x is so coarse it doesn't meter very well in my powder measures. Neal in AZ

The Ruger #1 (or: You know you want to look.)

I only have 2 #1's but I sure would like more! :D I like to think I have one for each end of the caliber/power spectrum. On the small end I have a sweet #1B in .22 Hornet that has an awesome piece of wood. On the other end I have a #1H that is chambered in .460 Weatherby Magnum. It...

    Buckshot load data.

I cast and load my own buckshot & slugs. With buck I weigh the pellets I am going to load, pick an appropriate powder charge and then find the wad that will let the load crimp properly.
