    Single Action ZIG226? Any problems?

I'm with Jim on this one. A plain 226 SAO would be a wonderful addition to the lineup (assuming they get the QC right). I'd sell off some of my DA/SA's to fund a purchase if needed to. The X-five short is interesting, but has target sights and the adjustable, and quite light, trigger, both...

    Single Action ZIG226? Any problems?

Are you referring to the X-five? SIG doesn't make a SAO, plane 226 that I've ever seen. X-fives are longer than standard 226's, and have much better triggers. They are also all German made. I haven't heard of any systemic problems with them.

New Sig 226 Elite owner in 9mm

I haven't personally measured the reset distance, but it is indeed very, very short. I belive I've read posts by those who have done measurements, that the reset distance is shorter than a Glocks. Not sure about an SAO though.

    226 vs 226 SIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For 9mm, the standard, alloy-framed 226 is very nice. It's a sweet shooter, a good mix between too light/bad recoil, and too heavy/soft recoil. ST's in 9mm are nice, but the extra weight doesn't translate into that much softer recoil, and you pay by heavier gun for cary, and many report...

    Beretta 92 Fs Sand Problem

I hope you are using something besides WD40 as your primary lube. It's not good for that at all. Most modern guns will fail when exposed to significant amounts of flying sand. Magazines can be more of a problem than the firearm itself.

Sig 226 high capacity mag options???

Stick w/ factory mags, or MecGar (who makes the factory mags too). They've recently released 18 round flush fit mags for the 226. The new SCT mags hold 20, but do have a small protusion (but nothing like the old 20 round "SWAT" mags for the 226.

    .38 Super

As mentioned, SD loads for the Super are quite limited. Someone here posted a thread where they gel tested one of the available rounds, and it didn't penetrate very far.

Is the Browning Hi-Power still relevant?

Just so I'm on the same page: Are we saying that only the early model BHP's are not as durable as more modern semi-auto's, and that the current MKIII's are as durable? Thanks

Colt 1911: .38 Super to .45ACP conversion help

A 1946 Super? Please for the love of God, don't mess it up by trying to turn it into something else. Those can be gems (and if you look at the auction sites they go for mega $)

    Sig 226 vs H&K P2000

I have both, and it's hard to say one is more of a favorite than the other. The 226 is one of the nicest shooting 9mm's out there today. Nice grip, controlable recoil. Triggers are decent, and with a good trigger job can be make to be excellent. The P2000 (mine's LEM) is ligher and...

    .38 Super Ammo

You can find it online at various dealers. I just shop around and go with the best price, for the decent quality stuff (wwb, american eagle, etc). Natchez has gotten the bulk of my orders for it lately, but I'd buy from another reputable dealer for the right price.

Trade advice / Heckler & Koch

I agree with Vodka7. Unfortunately for you, you picked a very poor time for trying to sell a PSP. There are litterally boatloads of surplus PSP's being imported right now and sold at the various big stores and internet sites. Because of that, the prices for PSP's have fallen significantly...

    HK question

+1 on the new HK45, or perhaps 45C. Much better ergos and much better trigger than the standard USP line.

    The science of recoil

I'd love to see more science put into recoil. I'm somewhat recoil sensitive due to some arthritis. But I've found there are certain .45's I can shoot with no trouble, while some 9mm's cause me to wince. As I stated above, I think there's more to the story than just magnitude of recoil...

    The science of recoil

I'm with easyg on this one. There's so much subjectivity when it comes to perceptions of recoil that it's almost laughable reading about them on the net. So much depends upon the type of gun, it's weight, its bore axis. How well the grip fits the particular shooter (a very big thing...

    HK Lem trigger

It's not the easiest thing to describe, but I like to think of the LEM as having a trigger like an SAO, but with a lot/a long take up. The first part of the trigger pull is quite light, it's lighter than any other DAO type pull that I've ever tried. Once you get to the end of the pull...

Tell me about the Walther P88.... overated or not?

I like mine. I have read a report by a member on another forum (sigforum) who said that his experiences were horrible-the guns tended to have all sorts of breakages. He's the only one I've ever heard of giving severe negative comments though.

Does the 1911 really need a thumb safety?

Bingo!!!!!!!!!!! I hate all the myth, and hype that some post about these guns. They are both good/great platforms, but they are what they are-tools designed to the spec's of the people who were paying for them.
