    Comparing die manufacturers

I started out with Lee dies for 9mm, and 223. They worked great, never had a problem with them, but fell into the more expensive is better philosophy. I didn't trade up too far, I ended up buying a set of 243 Win Hornady New Dimension dies and I love them, the seating die's sleeve is awesome...

    Dillon Motorized Trimmer: Any Experience

I have been using one for 223. 12,000 cases so far and going strong. A little difficult to get the OAL you want at first but once it is set you are good to go. The vacuum cleaner setup/noise is the only downside but I just put my ipod on and my shooting ears over them...lol.

    Automatic case feeders

Blue guy here too. I cannot begin to imagine trying to load on my 650 without one. Mine came with it, I bought it used. I had a lot of feed problems with the top funnel until someone pointed out mine was old school. Dillon sent me a new style free and I haven't had a single problem since. I...

    Reloading Setup?

I would add to the killing the time thing...and I know a lot of people might call it a myth but a lot of people swear by single stage presses for match stuff too. Get a decent beginners kit with a single stage and start with that, wait a few months, see what you think and then if you still want...

    Reloading Setup?

Pay aint as bad as it used to be, my E-6 pay with 11 years....5,500 a month...that is with BAS, BAH, and language proficiency pay though. Tax write off aside...if you are really serious and a good portion of your reloading is going to be 223, and you even think you might be using military...

    Reloading Setup?

Okay, guess I should write off my reloading gear too. Seriously...I would double check that...unless your MOS, NEC, etc is reloader, which I have never heard of, there is no requirement to be proficient in reloading, nobody that I know of on active duty is required to reload bullets...uncle Sam...

Does anyone have a reloader mounted as a mobile station?

I have a Lee single stage attached to a mobile file cabinet. The drawer makes for good storage.

    bullet sizer

I would say watch eBay for a used Lyman. I picked one up for $40. Not too much invested up front in case you find out your not into it.

    Selling junk brass

My scrap yard REFUSES to take anything with a primer in it. I would say call the one you intend on taking it to and check what their policies are. A 5 gal bucket full of various calibers yields me around $75.

    Reloading Setup?

Are you planning on running a business? I only ask because you said you plan on writing it off. If you are planning on doing so have you filed for your FFL yet? Not trying to be nosy, just want to make sure you have all your bases covered.

    .223 handload for 1 in 9 twist

I go with 52gr HPBT Match bullets, W748, and CCI Small Rifle Magnum primers. I have been having good luck with those in my 1:9 RRA.

    Dillon 1200 trimmer problems

I have always had minor variation using one for 223 on a 650. The variation has always been acceptable though. I dont know how it is with the 550 but lots of people recommended to me putting a die, like the sizing die, in station 1 to even out the pressure on the shellplate.

Finally - A Perfect Reload Session!

Congratulations, I still have not had an error free progressive session, my best one so far had 2 times when the case feeder fed two cases into station 1 on the 650. I think what happens is the first case doesn't completely go into station one so when the shellholder turns it stays or gets...

    Selecting the correct neck bushing

So, would it be safer to buy a few bushings, experiment with them all until you find the best one and then eBay the other ones? In the grand scheme of things buying and keeping a few different bushings shouldn't kill the wallet right? What about brass manufacturer case neck thickness...

    Help!!

Glad you got that fixed. Watch how tight the press arm is. I have broken 2 pf the pieces that hold the arm in place. Apparently that happens if you let the bolts get a little lose.

    RORG brass?

Most people I have talked to say they think it is OK. I have a bit of it but haven't gone through enough of my brass stock to have to use those yet.

    How many rounds per hour?

I never understood how that was possible until I bolted a 650 to my bench and did it myself...guess I was a little ham handed there. I ended up going back to hand priming while watching TV because when I buy 1000 primers I want to be able to use 1000 primers, not lose any to sideways or upside...
