My gunsmith mounted a Seekins Precision 20 moa scope rail on my Remington 700 today. Problem is he forgot to bed the rail to the receiver before tightening everything down and mounting the scope, he is now going to bed the rail for me.

According to the TC website, the R-55 Benchmark has a tighter match chamber and is a bit more selective about ammo, i.e., no CCI Stingers etc; the Classic should be immune from ammo problems.

Glass & pillar bed the stock blueprint the action, lap the lugs, check barrel crown, etc. That will turn a fine shooting rifle into a tack driver. you don't need to do this, it's just something I like to have done.
I have a Remington 700 CDL SF and like the walnut stock but have thought about changing it out for a laminate, who IYHO makes the best laminate rifle stocks?

Will an old (1960's) Remington SA BDL stock fit my new Remington CDL SF in 300 WSM? Would my fluted 300 WSM barrel be to large for an old short action stock and if so would it hold up to the pounding of a WSM cartridge?

I am in the market for a new long gun and have been eying among other guns the most recent model Remington 700 XCR’s, do they have that stupid Integral Safety? I heard somewhere that the big green dropped those safeties and was wondering what the truth is:)
