What size O-rings for 1911 grips?

gamachinist: green locktite is not 609. you are confusing that with locktite retaining compound which is a totaly different animal. yes that stuff is pretty strong but it is not thread locker. green locktite is #222 not 609. taken from loctite's web site: 222MS Low Strength Threadlocker...

What size O-rings for 1911 grips?

no particular size. whatever fits around the screw that is pretty thin. about a 4mm id x .5 mm od would work fine i guess. i prefer to use green locktite on gun screws that need to stay put. a small dab goes a long way.

    Duracoat question

hi, acetone and non clorinated brake parts cleaner could leave a film that the duracoat will not stick to. i would use electrical contact cleaner to degrease and clean the parts. contact cleaner leaves no residue. i suppose if you just finish off with the contact cleaner you will be fine...

    45 Auto Barrel

try giving that pistol a real good cleaning. any leading or fouling buildup can cause sloppy grouping. a good barrel can give better accuracy if it is properly fitted. before you go on to replacing parts. shoot that pistol off a sand bag at 15 yards. if it groups better than shooting off hand...

    45 Auto Barrel

dont take this in an insultuing way but shooting low to the left is often a sign jerking the trigger or sqeezing your entire hand while squeezing the trigger. guns with accuracy problems will still shoot center groups although they will be larger than a pistol that is more accurate. almost...

How do you fix a 1911's tendency to kick brass in your face.

one method of redirecting the brass is to tune the ejector. putting a bevel on the face of the ejector in the direction you want the brass to go will help. i don't reccomend filing away at it unless you really know what you are doing otherwise you may wind up with a pistol that does not eject...

    Sp101 sight question

that sounds like a pretty fair price. you have to drill your new front sight in most cases (for the retaining pin). its a lot harder than it looks. you are dealing with a very small hole to drill. if your new sight has a hole in it for the retianing pin, then you may be able to do it by...
