Sig P227; face palm for advertising

For .45acp, I consider that to be "high capacity." The term is relative to what type of ammo is being used, obviously.

    Steyr Owners, Chime in Please

Luckily, the L9-A1 is the improved version of the pistol with a much better trigger pull. In around 2011-2012 they changed the design and put a roll pin under the sight to change the way the load is distributed on a certain part in the trigger group, resulting in a significantly improved...

Any Experience with a SIG SP2022?

Would be the best thing since sliced bread IF the grip was just a tad longer, just like the P229. The SP2022/Sig Pro would otherwise be perfect as is, especially at the price they sell for. That grip though, total deal breaker for me. It's nowhere near sub-compact territory, yet it's too...

H&K P7M8 or USP .45, depending on if we're talking about concealed carry or combat.

    My (new to me) P229

Looks like actual galling, not just finish wear. Definitely check for burrs on the slide's frame rails.

    What .40 S&W should I get?

I like both my H&K and Sig .40s. If it could only be one, it would be H&K though. In fact, I have a USP .40 up on GB right now. Selling for a very reasonable fixed price. Go check it out!

I present the German big bore cousins.

Yeah, I'm still kicking myself for not picking one up at my LGS for $600. Actually, they told me it was a demo gun that had never been fired and not a CPO. It was flawless and I think I could have left with it for $575 OTD. Oh well, I'll find another some day.

I present the German big bore cousins.

Well that was quick. It sold for $845 + shipping. Subtract fees and it looks like I made out with 6 like-new USPc magazines for $75. I guess I can't complain about that! Now I need to be on the lookout for a decent deal on another one w/ LEM trigger. :uhoh:

I present the German big bore cousins.

I also want to add a no-rail Sig P226 9mm to the collection. A CPO gun just like my P229 is probably what I'll end up trying to find when it's time to buy. I'm not really interested in any of Sig's newer offerings, including anything with a rail up front. Sig did make the P226 w/ a milled...

I present the German big bore cousins.

I did not have the magazine inserted in the USP when I took that pic. Probably why it looks smaller. They are pretty much the exact same size when taking all dimensions into consideration. The barrel lengths are roughly the same (3.8" vs 3.9"). Slide widths are 1.14" (USP) vs 1.12" (P229)...

Glock 30 OEM barrel. Its rated for how many

I do wonder at what point accuracy suffers though. I talked to a guy who has personally hand loaded and fired 70k rounds from his 23. He said he did have to replace the factory barrel at some point due to a noticeable decline in accuracy. I did not ask him when that point was (wish I did).

Glock 30 OEM barrel. Its rated for how many

I believe he was asking about the barrel, not the platform in general with regular parts replacement.

I present the German big bore cousins.

God, I love these handy little German compact pistols. My CPO Sig P229 .40 was the best $500 I ever spent and the Heckler und Koch USP Compact .45 is a totally sweet machine in its own right. How could I ever choose between these two?

The HK Picture Thread - Post them

It has actually been there for a little while now. Already reached out to the seller and offered what I believed to be a fair price, but it appears the seller is not in a real hurry to sell.

LOL. Thanks for your input, but I will be keeping my P7M8 for a loooooong time. :-)

Here are my two H&Ks. I plan on never getting rid of these. Next one is going to be a USP Expert 9mm or USP 9SD/Tactical. Here are a few more that I used to own:

Where to buy bulk premium JHP ammo for my carry guns?

Ammunition To Go used to be a great place to find premium JHP ammo like Gold Dots and HST in 50 round boxes for reasonable prices. These days, not so much. My recently acquired P7M8 only likes 124gr ammo (gas piston wasn't designed for 147gr), so I can't use any of the 147gr JHP I have laying...

If first you don't succeed, try again!

I agree 9mm! However, this pocket holster isn't working out too well for me. Whenever I go to take it out of my pocket, the whole thing comes out. Even if it were to break in I don't see it coming out of my pocket without the mag holder still attached. Tried it in a few different pockets and...
