    The Last Samurai

I loved the scene when Ken Watanabe's character Katsumoto insists on carrying his sword into the councel (when all things associated with samurais suddenly became "outlawed") and the Emperor wouldn't back him. It was powerful and heartbreaking similar to the scene when William Wallace was...

    Best ever

The SIG P220ST for me. You can spend years and years reading opinions on THR and listen to people who've been shooting longer than you have. But it simply comes down to this; shoot whatever works best for you. Whether its a Glock, SIG, 1911, Beretta, BHP, H&K, S&W, Walther, etc. Happy...

Matrix Revolutions: Browning BDM's first move?

I believe the Bond film was Goldeneye. Sean Bean played 006 and he carried the BDM. Or....I could be wrong. I could pop in my copy of the movie but I'm too lazy to do it.:neener:

Love - at first trigger pull!

SIG P220ST SIG P226 9mm H&K P7/M8 Glock 27 They're all very special and they're all handguns I fell in love after the first squeeze of the trigger. But my first handgun, the BHP, is a bit more special. I never shot a handgun before that time and like many people I was nervous...

    Most Reliable 1911

I've owned the Enhanced model Colt's from the early 90's to the Colt's made recently (all 5" models). I've never owned a Kimber, a SA, or more expensive 1911's. But because Colt 1911's have been as reliable for me as a SIG or Glock I'm surprised to hear people having trouble with various...

Going into harm's way - you pick the sidearm

SIG Sauer P226 9mm: I find it conceals well enough, it fires the 9mm NATO cartridge, and since its my favorite 9mm pistol its the logical choice for me.

    SIG's new Granite Series ... 1911

I think "Cool, SIG's coming out with a 1911 too." would have sufficed. And if the gun turns out to be a bomb its a bomb. It isn't even out yet. Whether its a 1911, SIG, H&K, Beretta, or Glock there's something worthy about its design and quality that fulfills a particular need or demand...

    SIG's new Granite Series ... 1911

Tamara, I think you know I was just joking. I'm not about to engrave "1911 Killa" on the slide. And my P226 is no Pinto. What's wrong with stamp steel for a handgun? Some of the finest submachine guns, assault rifles, and heavy machine guns use stamp steel. Anways, I think most of us...

    SIG's new Granite Series ... 1911

I'm a dyed in the wool SIG fan. And like Ala Dan my P220ST won't let me look at any another .45 pistol. Even if its a SIG. If I were to get another .45 ACP pistol I'd want another P220ST. ;) I saw the pictures and reviews over at SIGforum.com I'm sure they did a great job (as they...

    SIG's new Granite Series ... 1911

Hey! I'm proud of my Pinto!! My 9mm stamp steel P226 is the sweetest shooting piece of junk I've ever had the pleaure to own.:D If only I could put a bumper sticker on it that says "My other gun is an all steel P220ST" And for my P220ST "1911 Killa":neener:

    Your Most Accurate Handguns?

SIG P220ST and SIG P226 in 9mm Yes, I've shot more accurate guns, particularly custom 1911's shooting softball loaded SWC and reloads. But the SIGs I shoot with full power loads/defense loads. Their uncanny accuracy, one of the many reasons I would never part with them. Sweetness!!

    Finding my ideal 1911

I live in CA as well. For a while I played with the idea of getting "a really nice 1911". After some research here and at 1911forum.com I decided either a Valtro or a Colt NRM 1911 customized to order would be the best way to go. The other semi-custom makers didn't inspire a lot of...

Isn't a widebody .45 the greatest defensive handgun?

See how well you can shoot a .45 compared to your 9mm. I noticed my accuracy in follow up shots suffered when I switched from 9mm/.40 to a .45 Nothing incredibly dramatic but for a defense gun I just didn't like the idea I could shoot a 9mm or a .40 "better" than a .45. So why switch? Just...

    Sig 226 vs sig 229

I used to own both a P228 and a P229 in 9mm. Although I do like the compact SIG P228/P229 pistols the P226 in 9mm is just on a different level. For me, the accuracy and shootability is so dramatic that if you can CCW a P226 I'd opt for the P226. For the longest time I didn't think there would...

    Sig 1911

Based on SIG's great reputation with consumers, I think many people (including me) believe they can potentially come out with a 1911 that will seriously compete with the BIG 3. In general, 1911's (from the BIG 3 to Semi-Custom makers) are often perceived for not being as reliable "out of the...

Choose your favorite full sized 9mm for CCW!!!

My first choice in a full size 9mm defense pistol... I'd take the SIG P226 every time.

Glock 19 or USP Compact 9MM?

I used to have the USP/C 9mm now its a G23 (same as the G19 just different caliber). Whether you prefer the USP or a Glock is a personal thing. But the G19/23 feels more compact and just works better for me in that size range.
