You may chide those that cling to their guns and religion, but when someone is breaking into your house, you will be doing two things... Calling someone who has a gun, and praying they get there in time.

Thanks for the replies. Origin is possibly from SouthWest Asia. I had someone very familiar with black powder look it over, and his opinion was that it should be safe to shoot. Any particular reason why it may not be safe to do so?
Hello,
I recently acquired what appears to be a 1863 smoothbore Enfield musket. Caliper measure of the bore is approximately .75 inches.
It uses a 4 wing musket cap, and it does fire a wad. Overall Length is about 40". Also, would anyone know the correct powder charge? I tried 60 grains...
Today I saw what appeared to be a nice S&W CS9 at a store.
The grips had what appeared to be some holster wear but the slide and ramps were very good.
The odd thing I noticed was that there were 2 "cuts" extending into the barrel from the crown. These appeared to be machined cuts...
When I asked today, it was a "supplier issue".
Personaly, I think they are trying to squeeze the manufacturers for lower prices and they told Wal-Mart what to do with it.
You can get all you want at Gander Mountain or Dicks.
I went to the range with my mentor to try a S&W airweight last weekend. Walmart was out of 38 Special, so I had to stop at Gander Mountain. 50 rounds cost $24 and change, tax included. Plain old WWB, nothing special.
Carry the way you practice. I holster frequently at the range, and I decock/safety before I holster. I don't want the T shirt snagging the trigger and shooting myself in the butt.
The draw disengages the safety when the holster is cleared.
I tried just using the bead on my 870 Express 18" with 2.5" Remington sluggers at 80y. I would not want to be on the receiving end, even compared to .223. Neglidegable drop.
