Those really are our two best options, better ammo or bigger targets. Well, or get closer. Bigger targets are cheaper.
Y'all have seen my .22 targets, some are so big the worst ammo/shooter couldn't miss.
My Colt Pattern 9MM AR runs on almost any JHP, but can be picky with TrFPs, go figure.
If I were in the market for a 9MM carbine these days I'd be looking hard at the S&W M&P FPC.
A good cleaning may take out that stray piece of metal or whatever it is, and it may shoot just fine, but I wouldn't be happy about a new upper looking like that.
They should have inspected that and fixed/replaced it.
My N320 9MM load is much cleaner in my 9MM AR than any medium speed powder, for the reasons @LiveLife put forward.
The blowback action breaks the brass to chamber seal very quickly.

Since my old Benchrest days when I purchased a barrel vice, I use it to hold guns for cleaning, attaching scopes the 1st time, etc.
I have an old Nikon 6-18 Buckmaster, before they downgraded them, it’s on my Ruger. .22 Hornet.
The Bushnell 6-24x50 I just bought on close out is a better scope, but we get so much more for the money these days.
