what cleaning chemicals is everyone using?

with mine. i just get a big bucket. steaming hot water with dish soap. pour some down the barrel to start. then get a patch on the ram rod, and work it up and down the barrel, it will start to pump water in and out of the touch hole. if the water gets to dirty change it out. keep going until the...

    Homemade double barreled muzzle loader.

that's all well and good. but i don't want it lined to 45-70. would be lined to .50 cal muzzle loader pressures. which are nowhere near modern .45-70 loads (in general) the .50 cal liners are to small in dia. need to be .770 not .6875

    Homemade double barreled muzzle loader.

That was another option i was looking at. im not to worried about the firing pins as there shouldn't be a heck of a lot of blow back on them using inline 209 primers. its also a 10ga so should be of higher pressure than a 12ga (far from modern pressures. but we shall see) the gun isnt all...

    Homemade double barreled muzzle loader.

barrels will be hacked down from 28" to around 24" going to be fairly heavy. but id like the little extra length. possibly 20-22 depending on final weight. as for a cape gun. as i stated the barrels are shot. they are pitted like mad. they will have a hone run down them to remove what i can of...

    Homemade double barreled muzzle loader.

i thought of that as well. problem is there needs to be a bit of regulation or the barrels are going to cross at what is it 30-40 yards ?

    Mandatory Gun Buyback

even if they had a way of finding them. the general consensus on the # of gun owners is around 80 million in the states. even if 10% of 10% of 10% of the gun owners were willing to shoot someone coming to take their guns (likely be higher) thats still 800,000 people likely a mix of police...

    Mandatory Gun Buyback

How can it happen ?. ive seen reports of the number of guns in the states being set between 80million and 300 million. even with a throw a dog a bone of $200 the united states is so badly in dept how could they afford it ? even down to a dollar it would be out of the question. 300 mill could...

plans for a new muzzle loader build.

i figgured straight octagon bbls would be easyer to regulate and weld together. than round or tapered.

plans for a new muzzle loader build.

that should work. i suppose most in lines now that shoot sabbots shoot 50. so it stands to reason 50's would be more common than 45's.

plans for a new muzzle loader build.

wanting to make a side by side muzzle loader rifle. preferably caplock. im thinking im gonna hafta use a blank stock and carve it myself unfortunetly. as i dont think a double fowler stock will work right for octagon bbls. im trying to find a place to get .45 cal bbls with a faster twist...
