For those of you who live in Western Oregon, do you have any recommendations on gunshops. I have been looking for a Kimber and also the new Vaquero and find that a couple shops I have visited in the Eugene?Salem area either don't have what I am looking for or the prices are quite high...
A couple of days ago, the most recent installment of Jeff Cooper's Commentaries (December) came out with the follwing odd and perplexing comment:
And we also note that Ruger now has a couple of new 45 caliber pistols which promise well on the drawing board
What does this mean? The...
In the Jan/Feb issue of American Handgunner, Dave Anderson discusses Jerry Miculek's (sp?) opinion of proper DA revolver grip. He believes one should grip on the strong side rather than the web of the hand in order to allow a better angle of the knuckle to the finger pressing the trigger on the...
I have read references to heavy barreled Security Sixes but don't think I have ever seen one. I checked out the various " blue books" for guns and could find no mention or differentiation. If anyone has one of these guns in 4" I would sure appreciate a look-see: could you post a picture...
If anyone has Eagle Secret Service Grips on S&W 19 Square Butt and a Ruger Security or Speed Six I would appreciate if they could post them. I am thinking about getting some but would like to see what they look like first on my intended revolvers.
Thanks.
I would to have my walnut stock shortened to 13" LOP. Will the smith be able to re-grind the factory recoil/butt pad? Does anyone have a ballpark what this is going to cost?
Thanks.
In the March/April Edition of American Handgunner, Clint Smith has an article on shooting at 75 yards with varioius handguns. Two that he experimented with are a S&W M-19 and M-29. It appears both have the basic grip. Does anyone know what they are? They look like Eagle Secret Service...
I have a square butt Model 19. Does anyone have or handled a K-frame with these grips? What do they look like? Does the grip look disproportionately small to the rest of the gun?
Most importantly, how do the grips feel in your hand? Too small or do they fill it up enough to shoot well...
I just got these from Brownells. The hammer springs are 12, 10 and 9 (factory are apparently 14) pounds; there are trigger return springs too. Can I get buy with replacing only the hammer springs? What weight would you suggest?
Is it a difficult task to replace?
Thanks.
There have been several recent articles discussing proper handgun fit particularly in light of Tacoma PD's selection of a Kimber 1911 variant. Their selection process was quite interesting. Using a variantion of their measurement technique I have measured the circumference of a Ruger P-95 and...
Does anyone know of a website or address/phone number for Letts Grips--the ones who make Ruger's grips. It used to be in the Ruger catalog but I can't find anything in the current one.
Thanks.
