If you want a "shooter" that will last through thousands of rounds of ammo, the SP101 will probably serve you better than most any comparable size revolver. For concealed carry it goes well in an inside the waistband holster, but that is about the limit of it's ability to be carried concealed...
I load all three of those rounds as well as .40 S&W and .45 ACP with a Lee Classic Turret (4 hole) press with auto indexing. I can do 100 in 30 minutes if I really move it. I like the machine except for the little stupid plastic square washer that goes on the indexing rod and causes it to index...
It's easy to transition from a GLOCK to XD as far as feel and shooting. I have owned both the tactical 9 and compact .45 in XD and had some "little" problems with both.
The .9 was a tack driver, but would not dependably cycle inexpensive factory target ammo. Numerous failures to eject. Also...
Over the last year I have bought, traded, sold and used a dozen handguns. That includes 3 Taurus pistols: 92, PT 1911, and 24/7 9mm. All Taurus handguns have performed flawlessly with around a 1000 rounds through them. The 24/7 is my daily carry gun and fires anything.
The only gun I have...
I carry a Taurus 24/7 that has the same type safety. I put a bullet in the pipe then flip the safety on. It locks the trigger and slide. It is a flip up/down safety like a 1911 and is easily flipped off with one hand on the draw. Carried in a Galco inside the waistband holster it is secure...
The Glock choice is a good one. With a Galco inside the waistband holster, I carry a full size Glock 22 or a Taurus 24/7 regularly in summer clothes. While the Glock was a good choice, your gun dealer is not.
The gun dealer I do business with in Fort Smith, Cooper's Gun shop will take a...
Every few times to the range. However, I have forsaken taking them apart. It's too difficult and has a damaging affect on them. I spray them inside thoroughly with Gun Scrubber and shake them out, then let them dry. I wipe all areas that are exposed. All mags for 5 pistols work flawlessly.
What are you used to shooting?
I had a friend shoot my XD 9 and comment on how "light" the trigger pull was. He was only used to shooting a double action only (hammer, not striker) auto and thought the XD pull was "incredible".
However, it comes from the factory with a 5.5 - 7.7 lb...
I carry a couple of small guns, a Ruger SP101 and a Bersa 380 when I am dressed very lightly, though I prefer a full size pistol. The gun I carry most often in usual summer clothes (shorts, t-shirt and light button shirt) is a full size Taurus 24/7 9mm. I tuck in my t shirt for comfort and use...
The time it's taking in Arkansas right now is ridiculous. 4 months is typical. Mine took 4 months 3 weeks and only came after I wrote the Regulatory Services Division of the AR State Police. Then I had to email the person who responded twice to get it mailed.
You mentioned that the "gun bug" has struck again probably meaning you don't actually "need" this gun, you just want it. And if you're just getting something you want to shoot, might as well get one you can have some fun with.
I own a Glock 22 .40 cal. It comes out of the box shooting...
I have a Bersa 380 that I purchased new from Academy Sports for about 230.00. It has proven absolutely reliable, accurate and fun to shoot. I carry it when I need a thin, small gun for light summer clothes. Hard to beat.
This Bar Sto is a Semi Drop in barrel, but Bar Sto makes no distinction between barrels as far as chamber support is concerned. The chamber is noticeably tighter on the cartridge, but I was suprised that the support at 6 o clock was visibly no different than the Glock barrel.
I did scrounge...
