I've been of the opinion that if I carry it I want it ready, so I carry cocked/safety on. I've never used the halfcock position for anything.

I've had both...G30 and XD. I shot both equally well. I liked both but I if I closed my eyes, the XD felt just like a 1911 to me. If you like 1911's, you'll like the XD.

My PT92 was a dream to shoot...smooth, never failed me. I shot a couple of Beretta 92s and couldn't tell the difference...except for the price of course. I haven't dealt with the customer service though...seems a lot of people complain about it a lot.

I'd go with 7.62 also...ammo is reasonable and readily available...both the surplus and new manufactured. I don't think you'll go wrong with any AK. I'm selling a Romanian WASR right now, but its never had a glitch. I have a Century that's a step up from the WASR's and its also been a great rifle.

i think you'll be happy with any of the major players...s&w, stag, bushmaster, etc... i would suggest a 16" ar...my first was a 20" and while I loved it, I like the 16" ar i picked up later on much better and for the distances most people shoot, a 16" is just fine... ...i just got an...

I've been picking up some stuff...mainly because depending on what happens, prices could go up quite a lot. If prices don't go up, I can still sell anything I've purchased for what I've got in it...:)

I think you should have talked to the owner to get a better understanding of the sign. I know of a gun shop with that exact same sign. I asked the guys working there if the sign was for everyone...i.e., CHL/CCW holders or were they referring to people that were bringing in weapons to trade...

I took my dremel to the bayo lug, took about 20 minutes to cut it off and touch up the bare metal...same as a few above, i'd rather have the light than the bayonet...:)

tough choice...i have multiples of most EBR's, so I picked up a 590 this morning, along with a surefire and side saddle...didn't have a good sg for home defense and the 590 fits the bill perfectly for me... ......if it was me, i'd get a sg...have fun spending the $$$ either way...:)
