    Barrel Threading Job

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith or company that can thread an existing Remington 700 barrel to accept a suppressor?

    700 SPS Varmit

My only comment was going to be similar to LTR's. The only drawback to the great deal on the 700 SPS is the stock. Spend some money on a HS Precision stock and you won't believe the difference. GDS

    remington 700 problems?

My .308 Rem 700 is without a doubt the most accurate out-of-the-box firearm I have purchased. I had also purchased a Win Model 70 around the same time and I am glad that I have a friend that is a Winchester armorer. The .308 Rem 700 was so accurate that I bought the .223 and .300 WSM versions...

    Optics mounting issue

Bottom line: I want to mount optics on my Ruger Red Label O/U shotgun for turkey hunting. Can this be done? My particular shotgun is the All Weather stainless steel version of the Red Label. Great concept for keeping the gun from suffering from the elements, but it glows in the sun and...

    Planning Ahead

When the hypothetical usage of "forthcoming ban" is based upon information gained by keeping abreast of the actions of those who are not for keeping the 2nd Amendment as-is, it is in my best interest to remain realistic and not hope that a hypothetical prediction is viewed as having a defeatist...

    Planning Ahead

A have a few stripped lowers in my collection. I am going to build an AR-15 for my father and have come upon this problem. Looking into the crystal ball, which would hold more value, after the forthcoming ban: 1) Two CMMG stripped lowers with consecutive serial numbers 2) S&W stripped...

    Considering an H&R Handi-Rifle

I bought a H&R heavy barrel .223 for my son to transition from rimfire to centerfire, as he grew older. For the money, you cannot beat the H&R. My only issue is: The model I ordered came with a 1 in 12" twist barrel. It shoots the really light stuff fine, but spreads the heavier weight...

    Puzzled

Okay.... that must be where my mixup with the replies was. I do full length size and only neck size when the bullet can pass through the case neck, regardless of the original owner of the brass.

    Puzzled

Question Maybe my nomenclature is off.... The neck sizing collet die was used because the neck of the brass case was too large and a new bullet could fit through the neck of the brass case without stopping. This has happened before when reloading .308 rounds from my own rifle, not just with...

Thanks Don, the Imperial Sizing Wax did the job. I will use the One Shot cans for squeaky doors and stick with the wax from now on.

    New to 10/22's, trigger upgrades?

My experience There is a gunsmith named Vince Heir in Belgrade, MT that did a custom Match Trigger job for me on my 10/22 a few years ago. I actually won an auction on eBay for him to do the job. Boy was I thoroughly impressed with his work. I recommended him to a buddy of mine and he sent...

    Puzzled

A friend of mine repaid a favor that I did for him by giving me a couple hundred once fired 300 WSM cases. I tumbled the cases and ran them through my Lee Collet Neck Sizing Die, removing the primers. Because I have previously made this mistake, I always take a bullet by hand and make sure...

Threading a shotgun barrel for choke tubes

Update First, thanks to 10 Spot Terminator and RCModel for the info. I debated and then decided to send the barrel off to Carlson's Chokes. The website indicated that for $141.50 (includes return shipping), Carlson's would thread the barrel, provide 3 choke tubes of my choosing, and 2...

Threading a shotgun barrel for choke tubes

I have a H&R single shot 20 gauge for my son. He is too small to handle the 870 youth. My problem is that the H&R does not allow for choke tubes. I patterned the shotgun last Turkey season and it did well, up to 20 yards. I am checking to see if I could get a choke tube setup on the gun to...

Rem 700 trigger - adjust or aftermarket?

I can't stress enough that you get what you pay for in a Jewell. I wasted my time and money with a Rifle Basix, then made the jump to a Jewell. Now I have Jewell triggers on all of my long range stuff (including a Rem 700P). Go with the Jewell.

Married Guys: Does your wife shoot with you?

My wife has shown no interest in shooting. She asked me the other day, "How many guns do you have in that gun safe?" to which I replied, "All of them".
