Its the one with the star and arrow. Here are a few ugly pics of it. yeah its 1938. Under the date it says "Y 5551" I think its a Y and a 5. The buttom part has a line in it.

mine I believe is number 551. What does that mean? i was told that this gun was made in the 1930's.

meh. i figured that out once i got home. :cuss: but oh well.. I got it and I am happy. and it seems that all the parts are the same number. At least the 3 that I found. Are there any other places? Thanks The Deer Hunter for the link.

mosin 91/30 Russian 7.62x54R round receiver. I dont know exactly what matching numbers mean I picked it up from a gun store. I brought it for 179 ( + taxes, + gun nut tax). It was 149 before hand. It came with all the original stuff such as sling.. ammo pouch.. oil can and cleaning stuff...

Just picked up the mosin naget 91 today. It was to beautiful to pass up. Anyone have one? LN

Mr White, In maryland there is a 30 day wait requirement when purchasing regulated fire arms. You still have to wait the 7 days for the paperwork to come back. But I can walk in a store and say I want 2 of those AR-15's and a 9mm glock. Before I would have had to wait 30 days inbetween...

The reason why I would like to shorten the barrel is so that I can hold the gun properly. It seems just to long! I was also told by the manager of the shooting range that alot of women buy child size shotguns to deal with it. Thank you all btw I really appreciate your responses :D
