    Winchester 1200 3" conversion?

Mentokk1, I've got a Winchester Ranger 120, which I believe was between the 1200 and 1300. I use a 1300 slug barrel on it (but it was a 3" gun). Badger Barrels used to make slug barrels for all the shotguns. They restructured a couple years ago, but the guy who owned it was very sharp on...

    Am I the only one?

No, I like 16 gauges, too. Not for geese and ducks (use a 10 and 12), but I like it for pheasant and quail. Does the 1100 cycle okay? How about with reloads?

Anyone have a video of Smith & Wesson revolver disassembly?

I really like Jerry Kuhnhaussen's books. But I also have the video on tuning the S&W's by Jerry Miculek. It's good, too. Steve

    Home Blueing

I rust-blued the Model 70 .458 Lott that I built over the summer gunsmithing courses at Trinidad. I was pretty happy with it. I bought the big tank and pipe burner from Brownells. I put the tank across saw horses and supported the burner with jack stands. Bluing won't color silver solder...

    Remington 700 decision

I also think you should save up and buy a BDL, but to answer your question: Gander Mountain posts their drill and tap pricing on the web. They are charging $65 for the complete job. Mostly I've seen pricing "per hole" of $20-40.

    Starter shotgun.

I made the mistake of buying a "youth" single shot .410. The problem is that it was light for it's gauge. My kid hated it. I shot it. It kicked ME bad. 28 gauge kicks light and breaks targets great. But the shells cost a lot if you don't reload. Pumps are light, and kick more than...

    Colt Detective Special .38

I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and encourage you to buy it! I picked up my circa '64 Colt Detective special in a trade around 1989. I shot it and couldn't believe how accurate this little snubbie was. It's still super accurate, holds 6, is small enough to be concealable but big...

    Ruger GP100 in 44 mag

I have a 4.75" Vaquero in .44 Mag. Full house loads hurt. Full house .454 loads in a SRH wear you out a lot less. I think the GP100 would be rough. I've actually been thinking of going the other way and getting an N frame in 357 (model 627) so I could load up those 180gr silhouette loads...

Ever have someone make fun of your guns at the range?

I agree with the previous poster who said it seems so silly that I almost can't imagine it. Are you sure they weren't trying to tease you just to initiate some back-and-forth? I imagine you are sure, but boy it seems odd. There is a trap shooter (contrary to the archetype here, he's a GREAT...

Open sight revolver accuracy @ 50yds.

I find 50 yards worse than 100 yards with iron sights (even rifles, muzzleloaders, etc) because I tend to chase the bull instead of focusing on the front sight post. Often, I'll go back and forth, and not even be aware of it. I try to ask myself, "Is the target blurry?" before firing the shot...

    S X S delima

If you can catch a cheap hop to Traverse City, Fieldsport there does fittings. You might like the AyA's he sells or one of the used guns there.

10 gauge light loads in semi-auto?

Anybody tried running the light 10 gauge loads in the BPI manuals or the Precision Reloading manuals through their autoloader? Through their Browning Gold 10? Down to what kind of payload/velocity did they cycle? Thanks, Steve
