GOOD......then I can purchase a nipple for musket caps...….I gonna switch the nipple so I can use up the 1500 musket caps that I have laying around......like a fool I sold my enfield musketoon but kept the caps.....
CAN anyone tell me what size the nipple is in a Pedersoli scout 32 cal? I just picked one up on GB and was hoping it has a 1/4x 28 nipple so I could get a nipple that takes musket winged caps......wonder if this is possible...……..??????any help appreceiated !
Pull the nipple and check its condition.....make sure it will screw back in correctly...…( SHOWS no one cross threaded a wrong nipple)…..If it checks out ok then I would buy it ! that corrosion will clean off ! ya don't see .36 mowreys anymore !!!!
Squareback triggerguard
I am looking for one also.....seems like there should be a lot out there for sale since all I read is shooters saying they don't Like the squareback and therefore swap it out for a round..............Hmmmm.
Load
30- 40 grains3FFF powder is sweet to shoot...recoil becomes nasty around 60 grains and unmanageable at 80 gr.....
These are very nice guns and the old Buck Hunters were as well.
the bolt spring can have a microscopic hairline rack in it that is not descernable by the naked eye...this will cause it to be weak...it will probably break as you are removing it...It's a cheap fix....might as well buy a couple of them while you are at it..!
Powder you say???
Sir...you are surely putting yer neck in a noose by discussing the manufacture of powder...Why dont ya know that it is a Felony in the whole
USA to make it?
Well...the gun in your pics is not from the 1800's..I have mowreys in32,.40, 50, 54 and 12 guage...They were first produced in OLNEY TEXAS in the 70's and will be stamped OLNEY on the top barrel flat. After that company shut down the Mowreys were produced by DEER CREEK in Indiania...Thes guns...
Issued?
I have read a few accounts that attest that some Rogers & Spencer were issued late in the war.......maybe not many, but some.
and others swear that they were never issued? Nontheless the revolver is so
ugly that it is Pretty !!!!.....pretty is as Pretty does ! they are real sweet...
Rogers & spencer
Hez....yes ..! they are nice as can Be ! The big port for the caps is great and the cylinder can hold 40 grains 3 FFF for a BIG Boom ! Everything about
the R&S is SWEET...I love the grip too !
It just dont git any Better that This !! ! ! Dont hesitate to git...
Nice H& R !!!
WHEN THE BARREL IS STAMPED 38 S&W CTGE. the pistole was produced to shoot smokeless rounds,,,,although black powder rounds can still be fired.
Asm walkers
Well now...I have done alot of reading about the ASM Walkers and have found that ASM used Forged Frames....Now that's a Big Plus!
as far as internals...All revolvers will develop problems after extensive shooting if not cleaned and oiled correctly.....its the nature of The Beast...
