Been looking at bp revolvers for years. Can you recommend the ones are less likely to jam or misfire? I like to tinker on guns but some guns
can't be improved. Trying not to make a bad choice. thanks Hank (bullskater)
Just tried to size some assorted once fired 308 brass lubed with stp. About half of them could not be sized. I weigh 270lbs and use a rcbs full lenght and a small base die with a rcbs jr. Have not loaded rifle ammo in years so was wondering what equipment would make this job easy?
Just loaded some .429 120 grain wad cutter bullets from a a old Lee mold. I stacked two and loaded them to 725 fps second. At 10 feet they spread about half a inch and at 20 yards they spread about 2 inches. Should be a good trail load for snakes or wild dogs.
Do my results sound right?
I loaded 7 grains of unique under a 240 grain lead swc. Velocity was 840fps.
I loaded 7 grains of Unique under a 360 grain lead swc. Velocity was 935fps.
I would think the heavier bullet would go slower not faster?
Hey guys I just bought myself a nice 1955 Marlin lever action in 35 Remington. Walmart and the local gun shop has no ammo for it so I am ordering reloading dies and supplies from Midway. My question is which dies and bullets work well together. I know some dies cut into the bullets leaving a...
I have a A-5 from the 50's. I have a extra barrel i wanted cut to 18.5 inchs and a choke tube installed. Would the same raised front sight need to be used on the cut barrel?
I am interested in loading the 85 & 100gr XTP and or the 115gr GoldDot. Can any of you tell me the feet per second needed to get any of these to expand?
Last I heard Charter Arms was going to put out a carr revolver in 9mm, 40 and 45 early 2010. Have not seen the 40 or 45. Charter does not have any info on there sight. I pocket carry a 44spl Pug. I think the 45acp may be a little better round for a sub. The ammo is a lot cheaper to.
I have a Taurus 450T. It has a 2 inch ported barrel which makes it hard to get much velocity from it. Also the velocity varies about 100 fps when holding it up or down before firing. Was thinking about loading some
45 Schofield brass with a 225 grain hp bullet as a general purpose carry load...
I have a 25 year old TC Hawkin 50cal rifle. The bore is so wore that it will not hold the maxi bullet in place. Was wondering if anyone knows if the barrel can be rebored to a larger size.
I just put together a 16 inch AR with a flat top upper and a 16 barrel. (with the regular frount sight) I purchased a regular rifle scope and a set of med Weaver Quad lock rings that are to short. The scope touches the rifle and it looks like the front sight will be in the line of scope. Any...
I bought a steel Ruger frame in the white and need it refinished to look as close to Stainles Steel as possible. Was thinking about nickle. Does anyone know a good place to have it done?
Anybody know a good source for a stainless steel Bisley Grip Conversion Kit for a 45 colt Blackhawk? All I can find is a blue steel at Brownnells. Thanks
Having had to finish off 4 or so deer (hit by cars) with my 380 with not so great results I purchased 2 inch barreled Taurus 450T (45colt) revolver to carry mostly on my small farm. I carry the gun for protection from snakes, violent criminals or wild dogs. My question is about reload velocity...
I came across a M1 Garand that had the military markings and numbers on the rear of the reciever sanded off and replaced with new numbers. Looks like the numbers were put on with a electric engraver tool. Do you know if any of these rifles were demilled in this manor? If so what company may have...

Will be hog hunting later this year and was wondering if my
4 inch S&W mod66 would be strong enough. I like what a 41 mag does to hogs but don't have one at this moment.
I have never shot a large animal with a 357. I think a 158 ww soft tip my be go enough.
I reload and was wondering if...
Was reading on the Gun Test site about testing ammo by firing it into a gal milk jug filled with water. If the bullet stops in jug 1 that would equal 6 inches or less of penetration. About 5 1/2 in balistic gelatin. Does that sound right to you? Below is the site...
